Two Full HD cameras at 30fps
BlackVue's specification for the DR590X Plus series gives the two-channel model Full HD at 30fps from both front and rear cameras; only the one-channel version records 60fps. The front uses a STARVIS sensor of about 2.1 megapixels and the rear a CMOS sensor of about 2 megapixels, with diagonal angles of 131 degrees front and 136.8 degrees rear.
The listing gives dual Full HD at 30fps and a 131-degree view, matching the front figure. BlackVue lists a Wi-Fi on-off button, LED indicators, a built-in microphone and a speaker, with viewing through the BlackVue app and desktop viewer. The front body is 111.8 mm wide and 103.5 g.
GPS is an optional external module
The Amazon title lists GPS among the features. BlackVue's specification sheet lists GPS as external and optional, dual band GPS and GLONASS, and its in-the-box page shows an External GPS USB-type module marked optional. The listing's box list does not include the GPS module.
If GPS matters to you, plan to buy BlackVue's optional external GPS module separately. The listing title also mentions cloud connectivity; the specification sheet we read lists built-in Wi-Fi as 802.11 b/g/n but does not describe cloud features, so check BlackVue's cloud pages for this model.
Hardwiring cable included for parking mode
BlackVue's in-the-box page lists a cigarette lighter power cable and a hardwiring power cable, and the listing's box list names both. The listing says the camera switches to parking mode automatically when the ignition turns off when hardwired to the fuse panel, with voltage cut-off and timer set in the app.
BlackVue's specification adds that with the hardwiring cable ACC triggers parking mode and with other power methods the G-sensor triggers it. Its recording modes are listed as normal, event and parking with motion detection. The listing says up to 50 event videos can be protected from overwriting.
Card sizes and what is in the box
This listing variant includes a 32GB card, and the box list adds a microSD card reader, spare mount pads, cable clips and an analog video cable. BlackVue's specification lists supported cards of 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512GB. The listing says the camera warns by voice alert if it cannot write to the card.
BlackVue's in-the-box page also shows a rear camera cable, double-sided tape for both brackets, five cable clips for 2CH and a pry tool. The listing's box list does not mention a pry tool, so compare contents on arrival. The listing describes an Adaptive Format Free file system.
Temperature and power figures
BlackVue lists an operating range of -4°F to 158°F, storage of -4°F to 176°F, and a high-temperature cut-off at about 158°F. The camera uses a built-in supercapacitor for backup and takes 12V to 24V DC through its plug, with the hardwiring cable splitting into ground, battery and ACC wires.
For the two-channel model, BlackVue gives about 370mA in normal mode with Wi-Fi and GPS on, and about 300mA in parking mode with Wi-Fi and GPS off. Frame rate may drop while streaming over Wi-Fi, according to the specification.
