A rechargeable slope laser with a magnet, sold in several colours

The Series 3 Max+ is Blue Tees Golf's magnetic laser rangefinder with a slope switch, a scan mode and a golf mode that vibrates when it locks onto a flag. This listing is the blue colour. Its UPC, 728488906293, matches the Navy variant on the maker's page, where the SKU is printed as RF-G-S3MPL-NW; Amazon's model field reads RF-G-S3M-NW, without the PL. Check the colour and part code on the offer you pick.

The manual's box contents are the rangefinder, a weather-proof carrying case, a USB-C to USB-A charging and data cable, a cleaning cloth, a wrist lanyard, a mountaineer buckle, a quick-start guide and a sticker. No wall adapter is listed, so you charge from a computer USB port or an adapter you already own. When we checked, the maker's page showed the Series 3 Max+ as sold out and pointed shoppers to its Captain Air.

The maximum range is 1000 yards in the manual but 900 on the maker's chart

The user manual's specification table lists a range of 5 to 1000 yards, 6x magnification, Class 1 laser, accuracy of plus or minus 1.0 yard or 0.1 percent, and a measuring time of half a second to one second. The Amazon title and bullets also say 1000 yards. The comparison table on the same Blue Tees product page lists the Series 3 Max+ at 900 yards, next to 1000 for the Captain Air and 1200 for the Captain Pro.

The magnification also differs by source. The manual, the maker's comparison table and the Amazon title all say 6x, but Amazon's Features and Specs field says 7. We treat 6x as the figure supported by the maker documents and 1000 yards versus 900 yards as unresolved. Neither the manual nor the product page gives a separate flag-lock distance, so no source we read says how far away a flag can be locked.

How the slope switch and the two modes work

The manual describes a physical slope switch that turns the slope function on or off in golf mode, with a red background on the switch showing when slope is on. The manual states that the slope switch allows tournament play and that the product conforms to USGA rules; the product page says it can be toggled to comply with USGA regulation. Whether a device is permitted in a given event is for the body running that event.

Scan mode gives continuous readings, and golf mode is the one that vibrates once a flag-lock distance has been acquired. A separate Red/Black button changes the display colour by hand. The Amazon bullets describe this as automatic Auto-Ambient switching, while the manual's specification table says Manual (Red/Black).

A built-in battery you cannot replace, with narrow temperature limits

Power comes from a non-removable internal lithium-ion battery rated 3.7V and 1000mAh, charged through a USB-C port. The manual asks for a full charge of at least two hours before first use, estimates about 50 rounds of golf or more than 5,000 actuations per charge, and asks owners to charge fully once a month. A solid red light means below 10 percent or charging; solid white means full. The battery is not replaceable, according to the warnings page.

The operating range in the specification table is -5°C to 45°C, and charging is 0°C to 45°C. The warnings page adds a line reading do not expose to temperatures above 140° F (40° C), which do not match each other, so do not rely on that single line. The manual says the unit may stop working outside that range. Avoid leaving it on a dashboard or in a hot cart bag.

Water resistant, not waterproof, and the magnet has rules

Amazon lists IPX4 and Water Resistant, and the maker's comparison table also says IPX4. The manual's own specification row for Waterproof says No, its safety page says the unit is not waterproof and must not be submerged, and its care page says it should not be exposed to heavy rain or direct streams of water. The manual also notes that rain and fog may cause incorrect measurements. Treat it as a light-shower device and use the included case.

The magnetic strip uses a neodymium magnet, and the manual's warnings page carries a magnet notice covering implanted medical devices and magnetically sensitive items; read that page before buying if this applies to you. It also warns that a rangefinder shaken off a cart over bumps or curbs is damage the two-year warranty does not cover.

Two-year warranty with prepaid return shipping

The manual's two-year limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Blue Tees will repair or replace at its option provided you return the product postage prepaid. Damage from misuse, improper handling, or service by anyone other than its authorised service department is excluded, and unauthorised disassembly voids the warranty. The manual points owners to a registration page.

The Amazon listing also says two years and mentions a 60-day money-back guarantee; the maker's product page advertises a 100-day money-back guarantee. The two figures differ and neither source explains which purchases each covers, so check the return terms attached to the specific Amazon offer rather than assuming the longer window applies.
