A rechargeable 7x slope rangefinder with a switch and magnet

This is REDTIGER's golf laser rangefinder in white, sold on Amazon as GolfVue Series 1 with model and part number C001. REDTIGER's own product page sells the same rangefinder in Gray, with SKU RANGEFINDER-C001GY, and White, with SKU RANGEFINDER and barcode 6975394260917. The manual attached to the listing is titled Laser Rangefinder User Manual, version V5, and prints no model number.

The manual's packing list is the rangefinder, a portable soft case, a charging cable, a lens cloth, a magnetic belt clip, a hand rope, a mountaineering buckle and the user manual. Its layout drawing shows a slope switch on the side, a cart magnet, a USB-C charging port with an indicator light and a lanyard hole. No wall charger appears in the list.

The listing promises six modes; the manual describes three

The Amazon bullets say you can choose from six measurement modes. The manual's mode section says a short press of the Mode button switches between three: golf ballistic mode, speed measuring mode and ranging mode. The manual's specification table ticks flag lock, slope switch, horizontal distance and vibration as features rather than counting them as separate modes.

In golf ballistic mode the screen shows the measured distance, a slope-adjusted ballistic distance and the angle, with a flag icon. Ranging mode shows distance, height, horizontal distance and angle. Speed mode reads 18 to 300 km/h, and the manual says the angle between you and the moving object should be under 10 degrees. A long press of Mode switches yards or metres and km/h or mph.

Range, accuracy and a flag-lock figure no source gives

The Amazon title, the bullets, the maker's product title and the manual's specification table all give 1200 yards. The listing's own Measuring Range field says 5 to 1000 yards instead. The manual lists accuracy as plus or minus 0.3 yards at 300 yards and plus or minus 0.5 yards at 1200 yards; the bullets give 0.5 yards. Magnification is 7x in every source we read.

The manual's table ticks flag lock and vibration but gives no flag-lock distance, and neither the listing nor the maker page states one. Other optical figures in the manual are a 21 mm objective lens, 15 mm eyepiece, plus or minus 6 degrees of diopter adjustment, 3.7 mm eye relief, a 7 degree field of view, a 905 nm laser and a transflective LCD.

What the slope switch does, in REDTIGER's words

The manual says that with the slope switch on, shown red, the unit is ready for amateur use and training. With the switch off, shown green, it says it can be used in professional events and meets the regulations of golf championships. The ballistic distance and angle only appear when the switch is on.

The Amazon bullets likewise say the slope switch makes it legal for competition play. Those are the maker's and seller's statements. Whether a device is permitted in a particular event is decided by the body running that event, so check its rules before relying on the switch.

Charging, battery life and weather limits

The manual lists a 750 mAh battery charged through USB-C, with a red light while charging and green when full. It says a full charge gives 30,000 measurements, recommends charging when the display shows one bar, and says the unit turns itself off after 8 seconds of inactivity. The storage temperature it gives is 14 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is minus 10 to 60 degrees Celsius.

The manual and the bullets rate it IP54, and the manual adds that it cannot be directly exposed to heavy rain or soaked in water. The listing's Additional details say IPX4 and its water field says Waterproof, which the manual does not support. Clean the lenses with the included cloth; for deeper cleaning the manual says to apply lens fluid to a cloth, never directly to the lens.

Size figures differ, and the maker's warranty names its own store

The manual gives 115 by 75 by 45 mm and 180 grams. The listing says 4.17 by 1.61 by 2.36 inches and 6.4 ounces; the weights agree but the dimensions do not match the manual's. Check fit in your bag's pocket against both sets of figures.

The manual promises a one-month free return, a two-year limited warranty against defects in materials from the date of purchase, and lifetime technical support. REDTIGER's warranty policy gives golf rangefinders 24 months plus six more if you register, but words both terms as applying to purchases from its online store or official platform. The listing says two years. Ask the seller which terms cover an Amazon purchase.
