What the CS1613 kit is
EGO sells one 16-inch, 56-volt brushless saw in three configurations. Its product page lists CS1610 as the saw only, CS1611 as the saw with a 2.5Ah battery and standard charger, and CS1613 as the saw with a 4.0Ah fuel-gauge battery and standard charger. The manual attached to the Amazon listing is the CS1610 saw manual, which is consistent with that table.
The manual's packing list for the bare saw names the chain saw, a chain sheath and the operator's manual. Bar and chain oil is not on that list and is not mentioned in the listing's included components, so plan to buy it with the saw. The manual describes the saw's use as basic felling, limbing, pruning and cutting lumber.
Three different cuts-per-charge claims
EGO's product page says up to 130 cuts on a 4x4 with the 2.5Ah battery. The Amazon listing for this 4.0Ah kit says up to 130 cuts on a 4x4 with the included 4.0Ah battery, under a bullet headline that says up to 220 cuts per charge. Those statements cannot all describe the same test. None of them tells you how many logs of your size you will cut, and we did not test it.
Treat the figures as marketing for small dimensional lumber. Larger rounds take more energy per cut, so expect fewer, and consider whether a second EGO 56V battery fits your plan. The saw accepts any EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery according to EGO's page.
Bar, chain and replacement parts
The manual specifies a 16-inch guide bar, 3/8-inch pitch, 0.043-inch gauge chain with 56 drive links, chain type AC1600 and bar type AG1600, and also lists the 14-inch AC1400 chain and AG1400 bar as recommended alternatives. Use those exact figures when buying a spare chain; a chain with the wrong gauge or link count will not fit.
Chain tension is adjusted with a knob rather than a wrench, and the side cover has its own knob. The saw has a chain kickback brake handle, a lock-off button, a variable-speed trigger and metal bucking spikes. The manual says to test the chain brake before use and not to run the saw if the brake fails the test.
Oil before first use, and expect some seepage
The cover of the manual says to fill the oil tank with bar and chain oil before first use, and the saw ships with the tank empty. The tank holds five ounces, and there is an inspection window. The manual says never to run the saw when oil is not visible, and to use only oil made for bars and chains.
The manual also states that it is normal for oil to seep from the saw when it is not in use. Its suggested fix is to empty the oil tank after each use and then run the saw for one minute. If you store tools on a shelf or in a vehicle, plan for a tray or for that emptying routine.
Weight, weather and temperature limits
The manual gives the saw's net weight as 9.0 pounds without battery or sheath. Amazon's table lists 20.9 pounds without saying what that figure includes; neither number is the working weight with the 4.0Ah battery attached, which the sources we read do not state. Handle one in a store if arm fatigue matters to you.
The listing describes IPX4 weather resistance. The manual gives an operating range of 5°F to 104°F and says the saw or battery will stop until it cools below 152°F if it overheats. Its warranty excludes immersion in water. Weather-resistant does not mean it should be left outside.
Maintenance and warranty conditions
The manual asks you to clean the bar, its rails and the lubricating hole every day of use, to flip the bar periodically to even out wear, and to grease the nose sprocket weekly with a grease syringe. Chains need sharpening or replacement as with any saw. Store it indoors with the battery removed and the sheath on.
EGO's printed policy gives five years on the tool and three years on battery and charger for personal household use, to the original purchaser from an authorized EGO retailer, with the dated receipt. Bars and chains are treated as maintenance parts with ninety days. Reconditioned units get one year, commercial use has shorter terms and rental use voids it. Check that the seller of the offer you pick is an authorized retailer on EGO's list.
