Homeowners who want an 18-inch battery saw and dealer service

This kit pairs Husqvarna's 18-inch brushless 350i with a BLi30 battery and the 40-C80 charger. Husqvarna estimates 45 to 55 minutes of standard use and about four and a half hours to recharge on the included charger. The 7.72-pound weight excludes the battery, bar and chain, and the battery warranty has age and discount exclusions.

What this kit number includes

Amazon's model number 970601202 matches Husqvarna's article 970 60 12-02, which its US site describes as the 18-inch, tool-less tensioning 350i kit with a BLi30 battery and the 40-C80 charger. Husqvarna sells the same saw without battery and charger under a different article number, and the Amazon page has a separate option for that, so check the selected option says battery and charger.

The included components line on Amazon lists the chainsaw, battery, charger and owner's manual. Bar and chain oil is not listed. Husqvarna's accessories list for this saw includes a filing guide and chainsaw chaps as separate purchases.

The 7.72-pound figure leaves out the battery, bar and chain

Amazon's table gives an item weight of 7.72 pounds. Husqvarna's specification table gives the same 7.72 pounds and labels it as weight excluding battery and cutting equipment. The working saw, with an 18-inch bar, chain, oil and a BLi30 battery on board, weighs more than that, and neither source we read states the total. If weight is your reason for choosing a battery saw, lift one at a dealer.

Husqvarna also publishes 91 dB(A) at the operator's ear and handle vibration values of 3.7 and 2.6 m/s². Those are maker measurements, and they are a reminder that a battery saw still calls for hearing protection.

Runtime and the included charger

Husqvarna's FAQ says users can expect approximately 45 to 55 minutes of runtime during standard use with the included battery, and that Boost Mode, which the listing says adds 25 percent more power, shortens runtime. It adds that results vary with workload, temperature and technique. That is a maker estimate, not our measurement.

The same FAQ says a full charge of the BLi30 on the included 40-C80 charger takes approximately four hours and thirty minutes, and recommends a faster charger, sold separately, that takes about one hour and twenty minutes. With one battery, plan on one working session per day unless you buy a second battery or the faster charger. Husqvarna's page describes the battery as 7.5Ah in the FAQ and 7.7Ah in the specification table.

Bar, chain and oiling

Husqvarna's table specifies an 18-inch bar as both the minimum and maximum recommended length, 3/8-inch mini pitch, .050-inch gauge, chain type S93G, a sprocket nose and a Spur 6 drive sprocket. The matching replacement chain on Husqvarna's site is the X-CUT S93G. The warranty document excludes damage from a mismatched pitch or gauge of bar, chain or sprocket, so buy replacements by those numbers.

Oiling is automatic, with a pump listed at 7 to 9 ml per minute and a tank of 0.423 US pint, about 200 ml. At the listed pump rates a full tank would be used in roughly twenty to thirty minutes of chain running, so carry oil. The saw has mounted spikes and a chain brake with an indicator light.

Power claims are comparisons, not test results

The listing and Husqvarna's page say the saw has more cutting power than comparable gas saws and list 1.9 horsepower. Husqvarna's own footnote says battery output is measured comparable to petrol products, and the comparison carries an asterisk whose detail we did not find on the page. Treat it as a maker comparison. Chain speed at maximum power is listed as 38.7 feet per second.

Warranty limits worth reading before you buy

The 2026 warranty document lists consumer 100, 200 and 300 series battery products, BLi30 batteries and 40-C80 chargers at three years for residential use and ninety days for professional use, for the original purchaser with proof of purchase. Service is through an authorized servicing dealer, and transport costs are yours. Registration is not required.

Two exclusions matter for online purchases. The document says first-sale units with a manufacture date more than twelve months old carry no battery warranty, and that scratch-and-dent, prior-model-year or discounted units have no battery warranty. Reconditioned products get thirty days. Wear parts are excluded, and failing to follow the operator's manual maintenance voids coverage. Check the seller and condition on the offer you choose.
