The listing's part number is 99390-004; Kwikset's product page shows the lock as 939 WIFI TSCR 514 in Matte Black, and the page carries the same UPC as the listing, 883351681988.
The listing's box contents are the interior and exterior assemblies, latch, strike, installation hardware, four AA batteries with a battery pack, a SmartKey tool, two keys, a mounting plate, an adapter ring and instructions. Kwikset's specifications list four AA batteries included and two keys.
Door thickness: the listing and Kwikset disagree
The listing says the lock fits doors between 1-3/8 and 1-3/4 inches thick, with an adjustable deadbolt backset from 2-1/8 to 2-3/4 inches. Kwikset's specifications give a minimum door thickness of 1-3/8 inches and a maximum of 2 inches with an adjustable backset, and the troubleshooting guide says the Halo Touchscreen supports 1-3/8 to 2 inch (35 to 51 mm) doors.
The guide adds that a thick door kit, part 83033, is available through Kwikset support for doors from 2 to 2-1/4 inches, that the Halo Touchscreen is compatible with 1-1/2 inch and 2-1/8 inch door holes, and that the strike pocket should be at least 1 inch deep. We do not reproduce installation steps.
Wi-Fi requirements and region
Kwikset says no smart home hub is needed and that the Kwikset app works from anywhere with an internet connection. The troubleshooting guide states the network must be 2.4 GHz and password protected with WPA2, and that some features are only available over Bluetooth.
Changing to a different Wi-Fi network requires a factory reset that deletes Wi-Fi settings, user associations, settings, access codes and history, per the guide. Kwikset states that its app-compatible products only work in the United States and Canada.
Codes, alerts and features
Kwikset lists up to 250 user codes, settable for any time, a date range, set weekdays and times, or one use within 24 hours. The app shows lock activity including manual key entries and low battery warnings. Kwikset also lists a code alarm after 3 incorrect codes, a secure mode and one-touch locking.
On the Halo Touchscreen, the troubleshooting guide says the checkmark and lock symbols flash five times with five beeps when batteries are low, and the app also shows battery level. Kwikset lists compatibility with Alexa, Google Home and Brilliant.
Ratings and size
Kwikset's specifications list ANSI grade AAA, a 20-minute UL rating and a metal body, and its feature text lists SmartKey and BHMA certification. We report these ratings as Kwikset states them and do not interpret them.
Kwikset gives the assembled lock as 5.6 inches high, 2.8 inches wide and 1.2 inches long. The listing gives 3.99 by 4.24 by 9.74 inches; neither source explains the difference.
Warranty
The listing's warranty field and bullet give a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty and a 1-year electronics warranty. Neither the product page nor the troubleshooting guide we read states warranty terms, and we did not read Kwikset's warranty page.
