What the Flexify Classic is

This listing is the Midea Flexify French Door Air Fryer Oven, model MET26C3AST, in stainless steel. It is a 26.4-quart French door countertop oven, rated 1750 watts on 120 volts according to the manual. Midea's page and the listing both describe ten functions: Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Broil, Toast, Pizza, Reheat, Slow Cook, Dehydrate and Warm.

Midea's page lists the box as one baking tray, two baking racks, one air fry basket and one crumb tray, which matches the listing. Both say the oven holds one 12-inch pizza, up to six slices of toast or 14 chicken wings. The listing gives an interior of 13.0 inches wide, 13.1 deep and 7.3 high.

The control panel has a convection fan button, an Auto Menu button with five air-fry presets (frozen fries, wings, potato, shrimp and vegetables), time and temperature buttons, a light, and a Start/Pause dial. Holding Cancel/Power for two seconds turns it off.

Space it needs: 30 cm above, 10 to 15 cm around

The manual's product notes are specific: keep the oven 10 to 15 centimetres from walls and cabinets, and keep 30 centimetres of empty space between the top of the oven and anything above it. It should sit on an insulated, dry surface and not be used outdoors.

That 30-centimetre gap, about a foot, matters because the oven itself is 13.74 inches tall per Midea's page. Add the two together before you plan to tuck it under a cabinet. The listing notes vents on the right side, and the manual says nothing should be stored on top of the oven while it runs.

The manual also says not to operate the oven on the same circuit as another appliance, and to use only a properly grounded outlet. Its cord section covers extension cords, including that a grounding three-wire type is needed if one is used, so read that section before using anything but the supplied cord.

Air fry stops at 400°F, and preheat is a choice

The listing advertises a range of 100 to 450°F. The manual's settings table shows that range applies across functions, not to air frying: Air Fry runs 200 to 400°F, defaults to 400°F for 15 minutes, and runs for up to 1 hour. Roast, Bake, Pizza and Reheat reach 450°F; Broil offers Hi or Lo only.

The listing also says air frying needs no preheating. The manual treats it as optional: turning the dial steps through Air Fry with preheat and Air Fry without preheat, and the settings table also marks preheat as optional for Bake, Roast and Pizza. When preheat finishes, the buzzer sounds five times and you add the food.

Time limits vary by function. The listing's 24-hour timer applies only to Dehydrate, which runs 100 to 200°F. Slow Cook runs up to 8 hours at 100 to 230°F, Warm up to 4 hours at 100 to 300°F, Bake, Roast and Broil up to 2 hours, Pizza up to 30 minutes and Reheat up to 20 minutes. Toast takes 1 to 6 slices at darkness 1 to 7.

Cleaning: the manual only describes hand washing

The manual asks you to wash the accessories in mild soapy water and wipe the inside with a wet cloth. It rules out abrasive cleansers, glass cleaners and scrapers, and says plainly: do not clean the appliance in a dishwasher. The main unit must never be immersed.

Its guidelines also ask you to clean the heating pipes periodically. The manual says never to use glass or ceramic pans or lids in this oven, and not to cover the crumb tray with foil.

First use and everyday controls

Before the first cook, the manual has you wash the accessories, fit the crumb tray under the bottom heating element and run Bake at 450°F for 15 minutes as a burn-off run. It warns the oven may smoke inside for 10 to 15 minutes during this run, which it calls normal for a new oven.

In use, ECO mode turns the screen off after 5 minutes idle, or when you hold its button for 2 seconds. Holding the Convection and Time buttons together restores factory settings. The FAQ says steam from the door, water dripping from under it with moist foods, and cooling fan noise are all normal.

Size, weight and warranty: check before you buy

The figures do not line up. The listing says 13.7 inches deep, 16.9 wide, 14.3 high and 20.9 pounds. Midea's page says 15.93 deep, 16.92 wide and 13.74 high, with a product weight of 25.57 pounds but a shipping weight of 20.94 pounds. Plan your counter for the deeper Midea figure plus the manual's wall gap.

The listing states a one-year warranty. Neither the manual nor Midea's product page, as read, gives warranty terms, so ask Midea or the seller what the warranty covers and how to claim before relying on it.
