What the BP401 kit includes
Amazon's details give this ASIN as model and part number BP401, the Ninja UltraCrush Pro Kitchen System in silver, made by SharkNinja, UPC 622356693233. SharkNinja's own product page is for model BP401, and its support site files the BP400 Series Owner's Guide with a note that it supports the BP401.
SharkNinja's In the Box list is a 1500-watt motor base, a 72-ounce XL pitcher and lid with 64 ounces maximum liquid capacity, a stacked blade assembly, an 18-ounce single-serve cup and spout lid, a Pro Extractor Blades assembly, an 8-cup Precision Processor bowl and lid, and a chopping blade assembly. Amazon's list matches. The Owner's Guide notes that the number and size of single-serve cups and spout lids vary by model.
The Owner's Guide describes the unit as for household, indoor use. Its technical specifications give 120 V, 60 Hz and 1500 W, and SharkNinja's product page adds a peak wattage of 1,800 W and a cord length of 31.5 inches.
Controls and container detection
The Owner's Guide lists Low, Medium and High, which each run continuously for 60 seconds once selected, and Max for ice, juices and fruit. Pulse runs only while pressed. SharkNinja's page and Amazon describe four speeds, Low, Medium, High and Max, plus Pulse. The guide says Low, Medium and High do not work in conjunction with the preset program, and its step-by-step sections also mention preset programs that stop automatically.
The guide says the base detects which container is installed and lights only the functions available for that container. Its troubleshooting section repeats that if not all programs light up, you may be trying to use a program not designed for the container installed.
If a container and lid are not properly installed, the guide says the program lights flash in sequence and the motor is disabled until it is fixed. It tells you never to defeat that interlock.
Loose blades in the pitcher and bowl
The guide says the Stacked Blade Assembly in the pitcher and the Chopping Blade Assembly in the processor bowl are not locked in place. For the pitcher, pour through the spout only with the lid fully locked; if you remove the lid to pour, lift the blade out by the shaft first. For the bowl, the guide says to always remove the blade assembly before emptying.
The single-serve cup works differently: the Pro Extractor Blades assembly screws onto the cup, which is then turned upside down onto the base. The guide warns not to blend hot, effervescent or carbonated liquids in the cup, to remove the blade assembly after blending, and not to store ingredients in the cup with the blade attached.
Across the containers, the guide says not to blend hot liquids, not to fill past the MAX FILL or MAX LIQUID lines, not to process dry ingredients or grind with the cup and extractor blade, the pitcher and stacked blade, or the bowl and chopping blade, and not to microwave any container. Overheating and reset
The guide's safety list says a thermal switch temporarily disables the motor if it overheats, and to unplug and let it cool for approximately 30 minutes. Its Resetting the Motor section says to unplug, let it cool for approximately 15 minutes, and remove the lid and blade to check nothing is jamming. We report both figures.
The same section says exceeding maximum capacities is the most typical cause of an overload. It also says the maximum wattage rating is based on the Pro Extractor Blades assembly and single-serve cup configuration.
For crushing ice, the troubleshooting section says to use ice straight from the freezer and to start with pulses. It also suggests cutting ingredients into pieces of uniform size.
Cleaning and storage
The guide says all attachments are BPA free and dishwasher safe, with lids, containers and blade assemblies on the top rack only, and blade assemblies removed from their containers first. Amazon's details also describe the dishwasher-safe parts as top-rack only, which matches the guide.
The motor base is wiped with a damp cloth, without abrasives. The guide says to store the unit upright with blade assemblies inside or attached to their containers and lids locked, and not to store ingredients in the single-serve cup with the blade attached.
The guide says the supply cord is not suitable for replacement and to contact SharkNinja if it is damaged, and that extension cords should not be used. SharkNinja's page gives the cord as 31.5 inches, so plan to place the base within that distance of an outlet.
One-year limited warranty
The guide gives a one-year limited warranty from the purchase date for purchases from authorized retailers of SharkNinja Operating LLC, covering the original owner and product and not transferable. SharkNinja's product page also lists a one-year warranty.
Exclusions include normal wear of wearable parts such as blending vessels, lids, cups, blades and bases; tampered or commercially used units; damage from misuse or failing to maintain the unit; unauthorized repairs; and products bought or used outside North America. The guide says SharkNinja covers the cost of sending the unit in, while a fee applies when it ships the repaired or replacement unit back.
