Two self-contained 5-quart zones in one 1690 W unit

The DZ302 is Ninja's Foodi XL 2-Basket Air Fryer: two nonstick baskets side by side, each with its own crisper plate, for a combined 10 quarts. The owner's guide says the zones are self-contained with separate heating elements and fans, so two foods can cook at once without sharing air.

The guide rates it at 120 volts, 60 hertz and 1690 watts, and puts the model and serial label on the back by the power cord. Amazon lists the unit at 17.1 inches deep, 14.65 wide and 12.87 high, weighing 18.74 pounds, which is a sizeable footprint for a counter.

Amazon's included list is the air fryer, two 5-quart baskets, two nonstick crisper plates and 15 recipes. The guide's parts page matches that set: main unit, one basket per zone and one crisper plate per basket, plus an air intake vent and an air outlet at the back.

Smart Finish, Match Cook and where Air Broil stops

Smart Finish lets the two zones run different foods, times or functions and finish together; the guide says the waiting zone shows Hold until it starts. Match Cook copies zone 1's settings to zone 2, so you can fill both baskets with the same food in one go.

Air Broil has limits the guide spells out: it can only run in one zone at a time, and it cannot be used with Match Cook. Its time tops out at 30 minutes, against up to one hour for Air Fry and up to four hours for Roast and Bake.

The guide's Air Broil steps tell you to place a broil rack on top of the crisper plate. Neither Amazon's included list nor the guide's parts page shows a broil rack, so check the box contents on arrival and ask SharkNinja if you expected one.

Which functions you get depends on the source

Amazon's bullets and the guide agree on six programs: Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Keep Warm, Dehydrate and Bake. The listing's longer description instead names Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat, Dehydrate and Max Crisp, which does not match either. The guide also notes that not all models include all functions, and marks Keep Warm as not available on all models.

Keep Warm, where present, is fixed at 140 degrees Fahrenheit and counts up; its temperature cannot be changed. Dehydrate runs from one to twelve hours in 15-minute steps. The unit drops to standby after 10 minutes without a button press.

Temperature range is another gap. An Amazon bullet says 105 to 450 degrees, while Amazon's detail table gives a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 450. The owner's guide we read gives no numeric range, so check the panel on your unit rather than relying on either listing figure.

Placement: 6 inches all round and its own 15-amp outlet

The guide asks for at least 6 inches, or 15.25 centimetres, of space above and on all sides. It is for level, clean, dry worktops only, away from the edge and from hot surfaces or burners, with nothing placed on top while it runs and no cover over the intake vent or rear outlet.

Power rules are strict. No extension cord, no socket below counter height, and no external timer or remote-control switch. The troubleshooting page says the 1690-watt draw needs an outlet on a 15-amp breaker, that a 10-amp breaker will trip, and that the fryer should be the only appliance on that outlet.

The baskets get very hot. The guide says to put them only on heat-resistant surfaces and never on top of the unit. Its full safeguards list, including what to do if the unit gives off black smoke, is in the owner's guide and is worth reading before the first cook.

Cleaning: only the baskets and plates go in the dishwasher

The baskets and crisper plates are the only dishwasher-safe parts on this machine. The main unit is wiped with a damp cloth and must never be immersed in water or put in a dishwasher, and the guide says to unplug before any cleaning.

The baskets are dishwasher safe, but the guide recommends hand-washing them to extend their life. The crisper plates can go either way. For stuck-on food, soak plates or baskets in warm soapy water, and do not use metal scouring pads anywhere on the appliance.

The guide expects a clean after every use. Its tips add reducing traditional oven recipes by 25 degrees, using toothpicks to hold down light foods, and at least a tablespoon of oil for fresh vegetables and potatoes. The cooking charts are in a separate quick start guide we did not read.

One-year warranty: first owner, authorised retailers

The guide's one-year limited warranty from SharkNinja Operating LLC covers purchases from authorised retailers only, and only the original owner and original product; it is not transferable. Cover assumes normal household use and maintenance as the owner's guide describes, and products bought or used outside North America are excluded.

SharkNinja repairs or replaces a defective unit or non-wearable parts at its discretion. A replacement unit's cover ends six months after you receive it or at the end of the original term, whichever is later. Wear parts such as racks and pans, commercial use, tampering, misuse and unauthorised repairs are not covered.

Claims start with a phone call to SharkNinja customer service, and you need the receipt as proof of purchase. SharkNinja covers sending the unit in, but the guide says a fee is charged when it ships the repaired or replacement unit back, so check the current amount when you call.
