Fit and limits
Strengths

Caveats

- Listing and maker disagree on rear sensor megapixels and Wi-Fi units
Three cameras from two bodies: road, cabin and rear
The F17 Elite puts a road-facing camera and a cabin-facing camera in one windshield unit and adds a separate rear camera. The manual lists one recording mode, front 4K plus inside 1080P plus rear 2.5K, and REDTIGER's product table gives the same three resolutions. The windshield unit has a 3-inch touch screen in the manual and listing, and 3.18 inches on the maker's table.
REDTIGER names the sensors as a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 8MP front, a STARVIS 2 IMX675 rear and a STARVIS IMX662 2MP interior camera. The listing calls the rear sensor 4MP, and the maker's table calls it 5MP. Both the manual and the maker give an F1.8 lens aperture.
A cabin camera you can switch off
The settings menu has an Internal Recording on or off option, and the listing describes a cabin camera toggle for privacy and a choice between front-and-rear or front-and-inside recording. A Night Vision Switch offers on, off or auto. The listing and REDTIGER's page both describe full-colour night recording for the cabin rather than infrared black and white.
If you carry passengers, check local rules on recording people inside a vehicle before using the cabin camera. The Internal Recording setting is the manual's way to switch it off, and the listing describes the same toggle as a privacy feature.
The manual's box list is shorter than the listing's
The listing's included components are the camera, a 2.5K rear camera, an 18-foot rear cable, a 128GB card, a USB-C car charger, an adhesive mount, five cable clips, the manual and an app quick guide. The manual's package list names the camera, adhesive, manual, a trim tool, a power cable with car charger, two electrostatic stickers, five cable clips and the rear camera.
The manual's list does not mention the rear cable or a memory card. Check both on arrival. The manual supports microSD cards up to 512GB and the maker's table agrees; it recommends formatting the card in the camera once a month.
Parking and NiteGuard need the hardwire kit
The listing's parking-protection bullet is marked hardwire kit required, and the manual's Parking Monitor setting says to connect the ACC hardwire kit. REDTIGER's FAQ says its NiteGuard low-light parking recording is turned on by connecting the hardwire kit and choosing time-lapse recording under Parking Monitoring.
REDTIGER's own site sells the F17 Elite with a hardwire kit in every listed version; the Amazon listing does not include one. Without it, the manual's wiring steps run the car charger from the 12V or 24V socket. The manual warns that improper installation voids the warranty, so consider a technician for hardwiring.
Temperature range, Wi-Fi and GPS
The manual gives an operating temperature of minus 4°F to 158°F, a 12V or 24V input and a 5V, 2.5A output, and the camera uses a supercapacitor according to both the listing and the maker. The maker's table gives an F1.8 aperture for the lens.
Wi-Fi connects the Redtiger app for live view, downloads and firmware updates; the manual gives a working distance of about 15 feet. The listing quotes 30MB/s, while REDTIGER's table says a maximum of 30Mb/s, units that differ by a factor of eight. GPS sits in the adhesive mount and sets the clock automatically.
Warranty: 18 months, plus 6 on REDTIGER's terms
The manual gives 18 months of free warranty from the date of purchase with lifetime technical support, subject to local law, and says registering on REDTIGER's site adds six months. The listing says 18 months. REDTIGER's product page says the extra six months apply when purchased through its official store, and that it will repair or replace a defective camera.
REDTIGER's warranty policy likewise words its dash cam terms for purchases from its online store or official platform, and excludes mistreatment. If you buy on Amazon, confirm with REDTIGER whether the registration extension applies before counting on 24 months of cover.
