Roborock Q10 S5+ Robot Vacuum and Mop with Auto-Empty Dock

A LiDAR-navigating vacuum and vibrating mop with a bagged auto-empty dock. The dock empties the dustbin only: it does not wash the mop or refill water, so mopping stays a hands-on job. Roborock's own page gives the robot as 3.9 inches tall and asks for half a metre of clear floor each side of the dock.

A LiDAR vacuum-mop with a bagged emptying dock

The Q10 S5+ is the plus version of Roborock's Q10 S5, meaning it comes with the RockDock Plus auto-empty dock rather than a plain charging base. Amazon's included-components field lists the robot, the auto-empty dock, a mop module, a VibraRise mop, a power cord, a moisture-proof mat, a quick start guide and a user manual. The dock empties the robot's dustbin into a disposable bag; it does not wash the mop, dry it, or refill the robot with water. Every drop of mopping water goes in by hand.

Navigation is described by Roborock as PreciSense LiDAR, a 360-degree spinning scanner that builds a map and remembers several of them for multiple floors, plus Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance which Roborock says is powered by structured light. The manual's parts diagram matches: a LiDAR sensor and a separate obstacle-avoidance sensor on the top face, cliff sensors and a carpet sensor underneath.

One naming caution. The supplied manual is for the Q10 Series as a whole and calls the robot model RRA0TAL and the dock AED09LRR. The name Q10 S5+ appears on Roborock's website and on the listing, not in the manual, so match the model numbers on the underside sticker if you ever order parts.

What the 10,000 Pa and 70-day numbers are actually measured under

The 10,000 Pa headline is Roborock's own claim. Its footnote says it is based on Roborock internal testing in Max+ mode with a full battery, to IEC 62885-2:2021 clause 5.11, and adds that actual results vary with conditions. So it is a top-mode laboratory figure, not what the robot uses on a normal run, and it is not an independent test result.

Amazon's bullet promises 70 days of hands-free cleaning from a 2.7 litre dust bag. Roborock's own page says the large dust bag lets you clean for up to 7 to 10 weeks without emptying, footnoted again as internal testing that varies with home environment, cleanliness and habits. Seven weeks is 49 days, so the maker's own range starts well below Amazon's flat 70. Roborock's page does not state the bag volume; the 2.7 litres is a listing figure.

Two claims on Roborock's page do cite outside labs: a TÜV Rheinland certificate (number CN251UKF 001) for anti-hair-entanglement, quoted as a 0 percent tangle rate for pet hair and 0.063 percent for 20 cm human hair, and an SGS dust-bag filtration result above 98.1 percent for mulberry pollen, cat, dog and dust-mite allergens. We did not read either certificate; we are reporting what Roborock says they show.

The dock wants more floor than its footprint

Roborock's series page gives the plus dock as 212 by 178 by 259 mm, roughly 8.3 by 7.0 by 10.2 inches, and the robot itself as 353 by 353 by 99 mm, about 13.9 inches across and 3.9 inches tall. That 3.9-inch height is the number to measure against your lowest sofa or bed frame, and it is the only height figure any source gives for the robot.

The manual's installation section asks for at least 0.5 m (1.6 ft) of clear space on either side of the dock and 1.0 m (3.3 ft) in front. With those margins the dock needs a stretch of wall about two metres wide, which is far more than its 21 cm body suggests. It also has to go on a hard, flat floor flat against a wall, away from direct sunlight and away from anything that could block the dock's location beacon.

Amazon's item dimensions of 20.72 by 13.89 by 10.18 inches match neither the robot nor the dock from Roborock's figures, so treat them as packaging. The manual also says to always put the supplied moisture-proof mat under the dock on wooden floors; it sticks down with double-sided tape, which is worth knowing before you choose a spot.

Mopping is hands-on, and carpet is handled by lifting

The mop is a VibraRise pad on a module that Roborock says vibrates 3,000 times a minute and lifts 8 mm. Because the carpet sensor and Roborock's ultrasonic carpet detection tell the robot to retract the mop mount and raise suction, carpets are avoided rather than mopped, and the manual adds that you can also set carpet as a no-go zone in the app.

The routine around each mopping run is entirely manual. The manual says to dampen the mop cloth and wring it until it stops dripping before fitting it, to fill the combo dustbin-and-water-tank unit with tap water using cold water only, to empty unused water from the tank immediately after mopping, and to wash the cloth and air-dry it to prevent odours. It also asks you to vacuum the floors at least three times before the first mopping cycle so the pad does not load up with dry dirt.

Two limits worth reading before you buy. The manual says not to use the product on high pile carpets and that effectiveness may be reduced on dark carpets. It also says to use only cleaning solution recommended by Roborock and no disinfectant, and not to rinse or immerse the combo unit.

Consumables, cleaning intervals and the app requirement

The manual prints its own replacement schedule. Main brush: clean every two weeks, replace every 6 to 12 months. Side brush: clean monthly, replace every 3 to 6 months. Washable filter: clean every two weeks, replace every 6 to 12 months, and allow at least 24 hours to dry before refitting, which effectively means owning a spare if you want to keep cleaning. VibraRise mop cloth: clean after each use, replace every 3 to 6 months. The dust bag is replaced as soon as it is full. Sensors, charging contacts, wheels and the omnidirectional wheel are cleaned as required.

The app is not optional. Roborock's page carries a plain statement that use of this product requires the Roborock app and that the product will not function as intended without downloading it and agreeing to its terms. Mop Only mode, water flow, carpet boost, no-go zones, emptying settings and the Do Not Disturb window are all app settings. The listing adds that only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is supported, and the manual repeats it, along with a note that network setup stops automatically after five minutes. Alexa and Google Home are supported for basic start, stop, pause and dock commands.

Do Not Disturb defaults to 22:00 to 08:00, and the manual warns that in DND mode the robot will not auto top-up and will not auto-empty after docking. If you schedule cleaning overnight, change the DND window or the dock will stay full.

Conflicts, operating limits and what no source publishes

Several listing table fields have no counterpart in anything Roborock publishes and should not be relied on: Maximum Suction listed as 10 meters, Voltage 120 volts (which is the dock's input, not the robot's), Number of Power Levels 2, Noise Level 65 db, and Battery Life 150 minutes. The manual gives the robot a 14.4 V, 5200 mAh battery and a 20 V 1.2 A rated input, and Roborock's series page repeats 5200 mAh, but neither states a cleaning runtime. Treat the 150 minutes as an unsourced listing figure.

Operating limits from the manual: use only between 4 and 40 degrees C (39 to 104 F), indoor use only, keep the floor free of water, never use it on an unbarriered raised surface such as a loft floor or the top of furniture, and use a physical barrier in a duplex rather than trusting the cliff sensors alone. If the battery runs low mid-clean the robot returns, charges and resumes, but only if it left from the dock and the dock has not been moved.

Nothing we read publishes a dustbin volume, a water-tank volume, a threshold or obstacle climbing height, or a cleaning runtime for this model, and the manual contains no warranty text at all. Roborock's product page shows a one-year warranty badge and offers a paid extended warranty; we did not open the warranty terms, so the conditions, exclusions and claim route are unread. Check the seller and condition of the offer you select, since coverage normally depends on purchase records.
