It vacuums. It does not mop, whatever the listing text says
This is the single most important thing to get straight before you buy. The Amazon title, all nine bullets and the included-components field describe a vacuum: the Shark AI Robot, an XL self-empty base, one side brush and one filter. SharkNinja's own page for model AV2511AE calls it the Shark AI Ultra Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum and describes vacuuming, Matrix Clean Navigation, Precision Home Mapping and a 60-day bagless base, with no mopping anywhere.
The listing's long product description says something else entirely. It opens by calling the product the Shark Matrix Clean 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop, and goes on about sonic mopping, mopping hardwood and tile, and CleanEdge technology. SharkNinja does sell 2-in-1 models, and its own site lists several of them by name, but none of them is AV2511AE.
Treat that description as copy from a different product. If you want a mop, this model number is not it; if you only want a vacuum, ignore the mopping paragraph entirely and do not expect a water tank or pads in the box.
The base is bagless, which is the whole point of it
Both the listing and SharkNinja describe an XL self-empty base with 60-day capacity that uses no disposal bags. That is the real difference from most self-emptying robots, which need a proprietary bag every few weeks. Here you tip the base's bin out instead, so there is nothing to reorder and nothing to run out of, but there is a dusty container to empty by hand roughly every two months.
The listing's item highlight describes the base filtration as HEPA, and the details table lists the filter type as cartridge, but SharkNinja's product page does not repeat either claim in the text we read, and we could not open the owner's guide to check what filter the robot and base actually use or how often they need service. Treat HEPA as a listing claim until you see it on the box.
SharkNinja's own page names three replacement parts for this model, which is useful when you are budgeting for a few years of ownership: a robot front wheel (model 1156FK950), a robot pre-motor filter (model XPRFRV2500) and a complete replacement AI self-empty base (model XDOCKAV2511AE). The existence of a separately sold pre-motor filter tells you there is at least one filter you will replace periodically.
Two different runtime figures on one page
Amazon's Recharge and Resume bullet says up to 90 minutes of runtime. Amazon's own details table on the same listing says Battery Life 120 minutes. Nothing on SharkNinja's product page we read gives a runtime at all, so there is no maker figure to settle it. Plan on the lower number, and note that both are stated without saying which cleaning mode they apply to.
What both sources agree on is the behaviour when the battery runs down: the robot returns to the base, recharges and resumes where it left off. That matters more than the raw runtime in a large home, because it means a single clean can span more than one charge without you doing anything.
The listing lists one lithium-ion battery, included. SharkNinja sells replacement batteries separately, and its battery warranty sheet points to sharkclean.com/batteries for them, so this is a serviceable part rather than a sealed one.
App, voice and what setup needs
Control is through the SharkClean app, with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The listing's controller-type field says App Control, and scheduling, starting, stopping and targeting specific rooms are described as app functions, so a phone and an account are part of normal use rather than an extra.
The listing does not state which Wi-Fi bands are supported, and SharkNinja's product page text we read does not either. Many robots in this class are 2.4 GHz only; we did not find that stated for this model in what we read, so check it if your router does not offer a separate 2.4 GHz network.
The listing says one filter and one side brush are in the box. It does not say how often either is cleaned or replaced, and we could not open the owner's guide to find the schedule, so budget for consumables without a maker interval to plan against.
Two warranties, with real conditions attached
The product and the battery are covered separately. SharkNinja's product page states One (1) Year Limited Warranty for AV2511AE, and Amazon's warranty field says the same. The PDF attached to the listing is a different document: a Two (2) Year Limited Battery Warranty. Do not read the two-year figure as the product's coverage.
The battery warranty's conditions are worth reading before you buy from a marketplace seller. It applies to purchases from authorised SharkNinja retailers, to the original owner only, and is not transferable. A defective original battery is replaced for up to two years from purchase; once a replacement battery is issued, coverage ends six months after you receive it or when the original term runs out, whichever is later.
The exclusions are specific about maintenance and misuse: normal wear of the battery, a battery that has been tampered with or used commercially, damage from misuse such as vacuuming water or other liquids, failure to perform required maintenance such as not cleaning the filters or not removing debris from the brushroll, consequential and incidental damages, repairs by anyone SharkNinja has not authorised, and products purchased, used or operated outside North America. Claims start with a phone call to SharkNinja and need the receipt as proof of purchase; SharkNinja covers sending the unit in and charges a return-shipping fee, stated in the warranty and subject to change, when it ships the replacement. Check the seller and condition of the offer you select, since authorised purchase and proof of purchase are both conditions.
