What the DL110 is and what is in the box
The Tapo DL110 is a Wi-Fi deadbolt with a fingerprint reader, a touchscreen keypad, Bluetooth, a built-in doorbell button and two backup keys. The listing's model and part number is Tapo DL110, and Tapo's datasheet and product page are both titled for the DL110.
The listing's components list is a mounting template, the deadbolt, a silicone cover, the Tapo A110(UN)1.0 battery pack, a USB charger, a quick start guide, Tapo DL110(US)1.0 exterior and interior assemblies, two keys and screws. Tapo's product page is headed Tapo DL110 V2. Neither source explains how the version labels relate.
Size: the listing's depth figure differs
The datasheet gives the outside assembly as 5.91 by 2.69 by 3.84 inches (150.2 by 68.2 by 97.5 mm) and the inside assembly as 7.83 by 2.91 by 2.02 inches. The listing gives the item as 5.91 by 2.69 by 1.29 inches. The first two figures match; the third does not, and neither source explains why.
Tapo's page says the DL110 fits standard doors with no drilling, and that tools are included. We found no door thickness or backset range in the datasheet or product page, so check the installation guide against your door. We do not reproduce installation steps.
Rechargeable battery: life, charging and temperature
The DL110 uses a removable, rechargeable 10,000 mAh lithium-ion battery charged at 5 V 2 A through USB-C, and the datasheet lists emergency power through the removable battery and USB-C. Its footnote puts battery life at up to 1 year in Wi-Fi mode and up to 2 years in Bluetooth mode at 20 unlocks a day. Tapo's page says around 12 months, and the listing says one year.
The datasheet lists a charging temperature of 32°F to 113°F, an outside operating range of -22°F to 158°F and an inside operating range of 14°F to 131°F. It gives a maximum power consumption of 4 W and a standby draw of 1.2 mW.
Fingerprints, codes and alerts
The datasheet lists up to 100 fingerprints and 200 PIN codes, one-time codes, scramble codes, emergency unlock, a mechanical key and automatic locking. Tapo's page quotes fingerprint recognition under 0.5 seconds from its lab tests; the listing quotes 0.42 seconds. The listing and datasheet list resident, one-time and scheduled codes.
Tapo lists a lockdown after failed attempts, with an alert, and the app keeps an activity log. Voice unlocking through a third-party assistant requires a PIN, per Tapo's page, and the datasheet says the lock should connect to the internet.
Wi-Fi, security and weather rating
The datasheet lists Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n on 2.4 GHz only and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0, with 128-bit AES encryption over SSL/TLS and WPA, WPA2 or WPA3 network security. Smart integrations are Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings.
The datasheet rates the outside assembly IP65 and states the inside assembly is not weatherproof; Tapo's page footnotes the IP65 rating as external only. The datasheet and the listing give ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 certification. We report these ratings as Tapo states them and do not interpret them.
Warranty and a stray listing line
Neither the datasheet, the product page nor the listing we read states a warranty length for the DL110. Ask Tapo or the seller for the warranty terms before relying on them.
One listing bullet about USB-C charging refers to keeping 'your doorbell' powered; the rest of the listing and both Tapo documents describe the lock's own rechargeable battery. We did not read the quick start guide or user guide, so take battery replacement, reset and installation details from those documents.
