What the ComfortEdge adds and what arrives
The Amazon listing is Vari model 402276, which Vari's own site shows as the Electric Standing Desk with ComfortEdge 60x30 in Reclaimed Wood with Slate legs. Vari's page describes a one-piece frame, a rear indentation and three-tier legs. The desktop is 60 by 30 inches and 1.25 inches thick in 3D laminate.
The listing says the desk ships in two boxes, and Vari's page mentions multi-piece shipping. The instruction sheet lists the parts. Vari's page also lists extras. Amazon's details table lists the top at 0.75 inches thick, which conflicts with Vari's 1.25 inches.
Range, capacity and a dual-leg lift
Vari's page, spec sheet and instructions give a height range of 25 to 50.5 inches, measured to the top of the desktop, and a weight capacity of 200 pounds for the 60 by 30 size. The same instructions list 220 pounds for the 48 by 30 and 180 pounds for the 72 by 30, so the size you choose changes the limit.
Vari describes three-tier legs, and the instructions connect two leg cables to the control box inputs M1 and M2. There are four programmable presets, and you can narrow the range by setting upper and lower limits from the control panel, which is useful when shelves or drawers sit under the desk.
Assembly is mostly slide-in, with a two-person flip
The instructions recommend assembling with two people and the listing describes a tool-free slide-lock leg fit. The instruction sheet's steps cover fitting the legs, control box and feet, and connecting the leg cables to M1 and M2.
Vari states two people are required for assembly. The control panel can be mounted on either side, per the instructions. The instructions ask for at least one inch of clearance from walls or other surfaces.
Two different motor duty limits appear in the same instructions
The instructions' warning panel says the legs are limited to no more than two minutes of continuous movement within any twenty-minute period, after which the display shows H01 or ERR. The error table in the same document says H01 appears after more than four minutes of continuous raising and lowering, or in a hot room, and to resume after twenty minutes.
Neither figure is explained against the other, so plan on the stricter two-minute figure if you expect repeated adjustments in quick succession, and confirm with Vari if it matters. Vari's page describes a drop-stop sensor that freezes motion when it detects items under the desk; the instructions offer three anti-collision sensitivity levels, with 10.6 as the default.
Lifetime warranty: what it covers and what it does not
Vari's warranty page lists the ComfortEdge 60x30 under lifetime coverage, and says all surfaces, hardware, mechanical parts and components, including motors and electrical components, are covered for as long as the original retail purchaser owns it. It is not transferable, and the remedy is a replacement product or part at Vari's option.
Vari pays shipping on claims only in the first year; after that you pay shipping both ways, and labour is never covered. Exclusions include misuse, normal wear, finish and woodgrain changes and damage from moving. Open-box desks get ninety days on electrical parts and legs only. Amazon's copy dates the terms from March 31, 2024; Vari's page says April 14, 2024.
