Waterpik's specification table gives a 22-ounce reservoir that lasts about 90 seconds, a flow of 13 ounces per minute and 1,400 pulses per minute. The listing's 90-plus seconds figure matches.
Ten pressure settings and two modes, but no stated PSI
A dial on the base sets one of ten pressure levels. The manual asks first-time users to start at setting 1 and increase gradually over time, and to prime the unit on setting 10 pointed into the sink before first use. Neither the manual nor Waterpik's specification table states a pressure in PSI.
A mode button switches between Floss and Hydro-Pulse Massage modes. In Floss mode a timer pauses briefly at 30 seconds and at one minute, and the manual explains how to switch that timer off by holding the mode button for about three seconds.
Which seven tips are in the box and when to replace them
Waterpik's included-accessories list is four JT-100E Precision (classic jet) tips, one OD-100E Orthodontic tip, one PP-100E Pik Pocket tip and one PS-100E Plaque Seeker tip. The manual also describes a toothbrush tip and a tongue cleaner, but the maker lists those as available for the unit rather than included.
The manual's tip chart says to replace the orthodontic, Pik Pocket, Plaque Seeker and toothbrush tips every three months and the classic jet tip and tongue cleaner every six months. The maker's FAQ gives three to six months. The warranty asks that the unit be used only with approved accessories.
Space, power and bathroom-safety limits
Waterpik lists the unit at 10.35 inches tall with a tip fitted, 4.70 inches wide and 3.80 inches deep, weighing 1.46 pounds, with a 52-inch cord. It runs only on 120VAC/60Hz outlets in North America, and the manual warns that improper voltage damages the product and voids the warranty. The plug is polarized.
The manual's safeguards say not to use it while bathing, not to place it where it can fall into a tub or sink, and not to use it outdoors. It also says not to use it for more than five minutes in each two-hour period, and that the unit shuts off automatically after five minutes of continuous use. Cleaning, descaling and what goes in the tank
The removable reservoir is top-rack dishwasher safe, according to both the manual and the listing, and the manual tells you to empty the reservoir after each use. Hard-water deposits can build up inside, and the manual gives a descaling routine to run every one to three months. Follow the proportions printed in the manual or on Waterpik's FAQ rather than guessing. The manual warns that iodine and water-insoluble concentrated essential oils can shorten the product's life and may void the warranty.
Three-year limited warranty that excludes tips
The manual's limited warranty covers the original consumer for three years from purchase against defects in materials and workmanship. You must submit the original receipt and, if asked, the whole product. Water Pik will replace the product if it was not abused, misused or altered, was used as instructed and only with approved accessories. Tips and other consumables are excluded, and opening the unit voids the warranty.
Waterpik's product page says the Aquarius is accepted by the American Dental Association for safety and effectiveness, and the listing says the same. Waterpik's specification table also lists a 36-month limited warranty. The manual says a damaged hose may be fixed with a hose repair kit.
