A handheld cordless flosser with the tank built into the handle
The WP-580 is Waterpik's white Cordless Advanced water flosser, a rechargeable handheld unit with the reservoir attached below the handle. Amazon gives the model as WP-580CD; Waterpik's page lists the white unit as WP-580 and calls it the Cordless Advanced 2.0. The manual covers the WP-580 Series.
Waterpik's specification table gives a 7-ounce reservoir lasting about 45 seconds, a flow of 10 ounces per minute and 1,250 pulses per minute. The height with a tip is 11.60 inches and the unit weighs 0.80 pounds. For a full cleaning session, expect to refill at least once if 45 seconds is not enough for you.
Three pressure settings and four tips
A single mode button cycles through low, medium and high pressure. The manual says to keep the unit upright during use. Neither the manual nor Waterpik's table gives a pressure in PSI, so there is no figure to compare against countertop models.
Waterpik lists two JT-450E Precision cordless tips, one OD-100E Orthodontic tip and one PS-100E Plaque Seeker tip as included. A travel plug stops water draining in transit, according to the manual and Waterpik's specification table.
Charging: 4 hours on the maker page, 8 hours in the manual
The listing and the Waterpik product page describe a 4-hour rapid magnetic charging system and up to four weeks of use per charge from a 4.86 watt-hour lithium-ion battery. The manual attached to this listing says to charge for approximately eight hours before first use and that a complete recharge takes eight hours. Allow for the longer figure until you see how your unit behaves.
Charging uses a magnetic USB-A cable rated 5V DC, 1A. The wall adapter is not included, according to both the listing and Waterpik, and the manual says to use a 5V DC, 1A USB-A charger if none is supplied. The charge light blinks three times quickly at about 30 percent.
Shower use is allowed, but do not immerse it
Waterpik's page says the unit is waterproof and may be used in the shower, and the listing says the same. No IP rating is given in any source we read. The manual says never to immerse the unit in water, so treat shower use as the maker's claim and immersion as forbidden.
The manual has a magnet notice covering pacemakers and similar implanted devices and a full safeguards list; read those pages before use if they apply to you. Its warranty terms, covered below, also condition coverage on approved accessories.
Travel extras, and one listing claim the maker does not repeat
The listing says the box includes a microfiber travel bag, a tip storage case and a travel water plug. Waterpik's included-accessories list names the travel bag, four tips and the magnetic charging cable, and its specification table confirms a travel plug, but it lists the tip storage case under accessories available for the unit rather than included. Check the box contents on arrival.
The reservoir is top-rack dishwasher safe, and the manual recommends removing and cleaning it weekly. It also gives a descaling routine for every one to three months; follow the printed proportions. Waterpik lists the unit as global voltage compatible.
Two-year warranty that excludes tips and the battery
The manual's limited warranty covers the original consumer for two years from purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with the original receipt and, if asked, the whole product. Water Pik replaces rather than repairs, provided the unit was not abused or altered and was used with approved accessories. The warranty excludes consumables such as tips and batteries.
The battery is not replaceable, and the manual warns that disassembly voids the warranty. The manual includes a binding arbitration clause. Waterpik's page states that the Cordless Advanced 2.0 is accepted by the American Dental Association for safety and effectiveness.
