A 98cc dual fuel inverter with a TT-30R and a 5-20R duplex, recoil start, a CO shutoff and a 1.11-gallon tank, at about 45 pounds. The manual rates it 2,200 running watts on gasoline and 1,980 on propane, but the maker's own spec table says 2,000 and 1,800, and its runtime figures disagree too.

A 98cc dual fuel inverter with a TT-30R RV outlet

The iGen2800DFc is Westinghouse's small gasoline and propane inverter generator with a CO sensor. Amazon's model and part fields read iGen2800DFc, and the manual and product page use the same name; the maker's spec table shows the UPC as TBD, so we matched on model name. It has a 98cc OHV engine, a 1.11-gallon tank, and a panel with a 120V 5-20R duplex and a 120V TT-30R 30-amp RV outlet.

The manual says no assembly is needed. Its included list names the generator, a bottle of 10W-30 oil, a funnel and a spark plug socket wrench, while the maker's spec table and Amazon also list a propane regulator or hose. Confirm the propane hose is in the carton before you plan to run on propane. There is no battery, charger or key fob.

The maker publishes two sets of running watts

The product page headline, its bullets, Amazon and the manual's specifications all say 2,800 peak and 2,200 running watts on gasoline, and 2,520 peak and 1,980 running on propane. The spec table lower on the same maker page says 2,000 running on gasoline and 1,800 on propane. Using the lower spec-table figures keeps you inside both, which matters most with a refrigerator or pump.

Runtime shows the same split. The page copy and Amazon claim up to 12 hours at 25 percent load, while the spec table lists 8 hours at 25 percent and 6 hours at 50 percent on gasoline. Noise is given as low as 52 dBA in the copy and 62 dBA at 25 percent load measured at 25 feet in the spec table. Only the 62 dBA figure comes with its measurement condition.

The TT-30R alone does not give a camper full 30 amps

The TT-30R lets a camper plug straight in, but the Amazon listing's bullets say that for full 30-amp power you parallel the unit with a compatible Westinghouse generator. The manual calls for the Westinghouse 120V parallel cable kit, part 504114, sold separately, and warns that third-party cables may not carry the load and that an incompatible generator can cause low voltage.

The manual also says to set the two units in a V shape so one exhaust does not discolor or melt the other's case, to start them one at a time, and not to use Eco Mode in parallel. Eco Mode should also be off for large surge loads such as an air conditioner or electric pump, the manual adds.

Weight, starting and the CO sensor

Amazon and the product copy say 45 pounds and the spec table says 45.4. Amazon lists 19.5 by 17.3 by 17.9 inches while the spec table gives 19.1 by 11.7 by 18 inches, so measure your storage space against the larger figure. Starting is by recoil only with a manual choke; the manual gives a separate propane starting procedure that includes a relief valve, so read it before the first propane start.

The CO sensor shuts the engine down when CO accumulates, flashes red for at least five minutes afterwards, and does not replace indoor CO alarms. An LED data center on the panel shows running information. The spec table marks the model CARB compliant no, and lists a floating neutral ground and no automatic voltage regulator.

Placement and fuel rules from the manual

The manual requires at least five feet of clearance on all sides including overhead while operating and in storage, and five feet from combustible material. It says not to run it in the back of an SUV, camper, trailer or truck bed, under stairs, next to walls or buildings, or on loose material such as sand or grass clippings that can be drawn into the vents.

Use 87 to 93 octane unleaded with no more than 10 percent ethanol; the manual says E15 and E85 damage is not covered. Output falls about 3.5 percent per 1,000 feet, and operation above 5,000 feet needs high altitude carburetor kit 518521. The manual's storage page covers longer lay-ups.

Oil, break-in and the warranty's labor limit

Oil capacity is 0.35 liters of 10W-30, and a bottle is in the box. For break-in, stay under half the rated running watts for the first five hours and do not use full synthetic oil until the first scheduled change. The schedule marks oil inspection before each use, adds monthly oil changes under heavy load or high temperatures, and recommends valve adjustment by an authorized Westinghouse service dealer.

The warranty is three years for the original purchaser with proof of purchase: parts and labor for one year and replacement parts only for years two and three under consumer use. The owner pays transport to and from a service provider, prime power use is excluded, and using third-party parts or unaffiliated repair shops does not void it.
