Aipas C1 Max Xpress ST Step-Through Electric Bike

A step-through commuter on 24 by 2.6 inch tyres

The C1 Max Xpress ST is Aipas's step-through commuter with an 1100W rear hub motor, 90 Nm of torque, a Shimano seven-speed drivetrain, a spring and hydraulic-oil front fork with 100 mm of travel and a lockout, 180 mm mechanical disc brakes with metal pads, and 24 by 2.6 inch tyres. Aipas's page adds a 50-degree adjustable stem that raises the handlebar by up to 4 inches.

Amazon's included-components field lists the battery key, rear rack, fender, head and tail lights, horn, charger, toolkit and manual. Aipas's own box list is shorter and names the charger, headlight, two battery keys, pedals, toolkit and manual, with a rear rack and fenders shown as an Aipas store promotion. Check the listing photos for the rack if you need one.

This Amazon listing offers both the C1 Max and the C2 Max. The selected variant we read is the C1 MAX, and this page covers only that model. Aipas's page describes the rear light as integrating turn signals and the front headlight as four LEDs.

Fit for shorter riders: an 18-inch stand height

Aipas's FAQ and the listing both recommend riders from 5 foot 1 to 6 foot 5, and Amazon gives a minimum user height of 155 cm. Aipas's geometry table lists a stand height of 18 inches, a seat-to-floor height of 30 to 41 inches, a 47-inch wheelbase, a 69-inch overall length and a handlebar height of 42 to 44 inches.

The step-through frame and the adjustable stem are what Aipas offers for fit, and the listing describes an adjustable fork and handlebars. Shorter riders should still compare their inseam to the 30-inch minimum seat-to-floor height before ordering.

The manual lists the bike at 65 pounds, with a package of 54 by 10 by 26 inches weighing 87 pounds; Aipas's page also says 65 pounds net and 9 pounds for the battery. Amazon's item weight field says 74 pounds. Aipas's page describes a die-cast alloy frame, while Amazon's frame field says carbon steel.

The certificate's battery and limits do not match this model's pack

Aipas links SGS certificate of compliance SGSNA/25/SZ/00488, effective 10 November 2025, issued to AIPAS BIKE LLC under ANSI/CAN/UL 2849. It names models C1, C1 PRO, C1 MAX, C2, C2 PRO and C2 MAX, and says certification is valid when the product appears in SGS's directory of certified products.

Its technical data describe a 48V 12.8Ah battery, a maximum speed of 32 km/h, about 20 mph, a maximum load of 85 kg, about 187 pounds, and an operating range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The C1 Max is sold with a 48V 18Ah battery, a 28 mph top speed and a 500-pound load, and its manual gives an operating range of 0 to 45 degrees Celsius. We report both and do not explain the gap.

If certification matters for your building, insurer or landlord, ask Aipas in writing whether the certificate covers the C1 Max with its 18Ah battery at the speed and load you intend, and check the SGS directory yourself.

864Wh battery, range test conditions and charging

The removable, lockable 48V 18Ah battery is 864Wh, rated IP65, and Aipas links an SGS UL 2271 battery report. Aipas and the manual claim up to 85 miles, with 36 miles electric-only on Aipas's table, and the listing gives 40 to 60 miles of real-world range. The manual states its range tests used flat ground, little wind, the top speed set to 20 mph, a rider of about 180 pounds, about 75 degrees Fahrenheit and about 30 psi.

The manual lists a 48V charger and four to five hours of charging, against the listing's four to six hours. It names one charger only, model FY1505462000 made by Shenzhen Fuyuandian Power, and sets a charging range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. Its battery-safety page sets the charging conditions; follow it rather than this summary.

Tyre pressure is given as 23 to 25 psi in the manual's specification table and 30 psi on Aipas's product page. The manual's range test used about 30 psi. Ask Aipas which figure it recommends for everyday riding on these tyres.

Speed, brakes and the stopping-distance claim

Aipas's page, the manual and the listing agree on a 28 mph top speed, reached at assist level 5, and a 20-degree climbing gradient. No source we read assigns the bike a US e-bike class, and the certificate lists 32 km/h. Check local rules before riding at 28 mph on shared paths.

Aipas claims the C1 Max stops from its 28 mph top speed in 8.5 feet, and the listing claims a controlled halt in two seconds. Neither states the test conditions, so treat both as marketing claims. The manual's warning page covers brake use; read it before the first ride.

One-year warranty with inspection advice

The manual's legal warranty covers the original registered purchaser for one year from purchase, non-transferable, and the listing and product page also describe a one-year warranty. The battery is not covered for power surges, third-party chargers, improper maintenance, wear or water damage including rust, and opening the battery or the drive unit voids warranty claims.

Exposure to very wet, hot or cold conditions may void the warranty. Shipping damage must be reported within 14 days of arrival, replacement parts ship only after photographic evidence and only within the continental United States, and warranty return shipping, duties and taxes fall on the claimant.

The manual's liability section recommends a full inspection by a certified bicycle mechanic after delivery and says Aipas makes no guarantee that components will be properly secured and adjusted on arrival. Budget for that inspection if you are not confident checking brakes and fasteners yourself.
