Aipas M1 Pro Xterrain ST Step-Through Fat-Tire Electric Bike

Tall riders wanting a full-suspension step-through fat-tyre bike

A step-through fat-tyre bike with an 1800W hub motor, 110 Nm, a removable 48V 17.5Ah battery, full suspension and 180 mm mechanical discs. Aipas links a UL 2849 certificate, but its data list 32 km/h and 85 kg, far below the 36 mph and 500-pound figures in Aipas's marketing.

A full-suspension step-through on 26 by 4 inch tyres

The M1 Pro Xterrain ST is Aipas's step-through fat-tyre bike with an 1800W rear hub motor, 110 Nm of torque, a 100 mm front fork, a centre-mounted rear shock, 180 mm mechanical disc brakes with metal pads, a Shimano seven-speed drivetrain and 26 by 4.0 inch tyres. The manual gives the recommended tyre pressure as 20 psi.

Aipas's box list is the charger, headlight, two battery keys, two pedals, a toolkit and the user manual, and the listing says the bike arrives 90 percent pre-assembled. The listing describes assist levels 0 to 5 and a USB port, and the manual's display diagram shows light, blinker, horn and USB controls.

Aipas's page gives the dimensions as 80 by 26 by 44 inches and a 52-inch wheelbase. The manual lists a package of 68 by 11 by 32 inches weighing 114 pounds, so plan for two people and a clear space to unbox it.

The UL 2849 certificate describes a slower, lighter-loaded bike

Aipas links an SGS certificate of compliance, number SGSNA/25/SZ/00407, effective 29 September 2025, issued to AIPAS BIKE LLC under ANSI/CAN/UL 2849. It covers models M1, M1 PRO, M1 MAX, M2, M2 PRO and M2 MAX with a 48V 17.5Ah battery, and it says certification is valid when the product appears in SGS's directory of certified products.

The certificate's technical data list a maximum speed of 32 km/h, about 20 mph, and a maximum load of 85 kg, about 187 pounds. Aipas's product page advertises 36 mph and a 500-pound capacity, and the manual lists 28-plus mph and 500 pounds. We are not explaining the gap; we are pointing out that the certified configuration and the marketed one are described very differently.

If you are buying this bike because of the UL 2849 certificate, ask Aipas in writing whether the certificate applies to the bike at the speed and load you intend to ride it, and check the SGS directory yourself. The certificate also gives a charging temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and an operating range of 0 to 45 degrees Celsius.

Top speed is stated three ways

Aipas's product page says that at assist level 5 the speed can reach 36 mph or higher, and its specification table lists a 36 mph top speed. The manual's specification table says 28-plus mph. The SGS certificate says 32 km/h. The Amazon bullets do not state a top speed.

None of the sources we read assigns this bike a US class 1, 2 or 3 label, and the manual pages we read do not describe a speed limiter setting. Check your state and local e-bike rules and any path restrictions before riding at the advertised speed, and ask Aipas how the bike is configured when it ships.

Aipas's page claims a maximum climbing gradient of 23 degrees, which the listing repeats. The manual's warranty section adds a performance disclaimer that listed range and top speed are estimates, not guarantees.

Battery, range and charging

The removable battery is 48V 17.5Ah, which works out to 840Wh. Aipas's page gives it an IP65 rating, a weight of 9 pounds and SGS certification to UL 2271, with a separate battery report linked. Two battery keys are in the box list.

Aipas's specification table claims up to 85 miles with pedal assist and 36 miles on electric only. The listing repeats the 85-mile pedal-assist figure. For planning, the 36-mile electric-only figure is the more cautious number.

Aipas's page and the manual list a 2A smart charger, which the page describes as UL and FCC certified. The listing says a charge takes about four to six hours; neither the product page nor the manual pages we read state a charging time, so confirm it with Aipas if overnight charging will not suit you.

Weight and rider fit

Weight is 79 pounds net on Aipas's specification table and 88 pounds in both the manual and the Amazon listing. The maximum load is 500 pounds on the product page, in the manual and on the listing, against 85 kg in the SGS certificate's technical data. Plan conservatively if you are a heavier rider or carry cargo.

Aipas's height tool recommends riders from 5 foot 5 to 7 foot 0, while the listing says 5 foot 5 to 7 foot 2 and gives a minimum user height of 165.1 cm. The geometry table lists a minimum seat-to-floor height of 35 inches, a maximum of 39 inches and a stand height of 19 inches. Riders near 5 foot 5 should check the 35-inch minimum saddle height against their inseam.

Aipas describes the step-through frame as built for easier mounting, but the seat-height figures above are what decide whether you can reach the ground. Riders outside the recommended range should ask Aipas before ordering.

One-year warranty for the registered original purchaser

The manual's legal warranty covers the original registered purchaser for one year from the date of purchase against defects in material and workmanship, and says it is non-transferable. Aipas's page and the Amazon listing also describe a one-year warranty.

The manual lists the covered parts and a separate list of wear items. The battery is not covered for power surges, third-party chargers, improper maintenance, normal wear or water damage including rust. Read the warranty page for the full lists before relying on any part being covered.

Exposure to very wet, hot or cold conditions may void the warranty. Shipping damage must be reported within 14 days of arrival, replacement parts ship only after photographic evidence and only within the continental United States, and warranty return shipping costs, duties and taxes fall on the claimant.
