Aipas M2 Max 26 x 4.0 Fat-Tire Electric Bike

The M2 Max adds an air shock and hydraulic brakes

The M2 Max is Aipas's high-step fat-tyre bike with an 1800W rear hub motor, 110 Nm of torque, a Shimano seven-speed drivetrain and 26 by 4.0 inch tyres on a 6061 aluminium frame per the listing. Aipas and the listing describe an adjustable air rear shock of up to 250 PSI with 41 mm of travel and dual hydraulic disc brakes on 180 mm rotors with carbon-fibre and ceramic composite pads.

Aipas's specification table also lists a front fork with 100 mm of travel, a 2A charger and 20 psi tyre pressure, and the manual's specification page repeats 20 psi and lists an electric horn. The manual's control and display pages were not read for this guide.

This Amazon listing offers both the M2 Max and the step-through M1 Max. The selected variant we read is the M2 Max, and this page covers only that model. Make sure the size field shows M2 Max before ordering.

Certificate data sit far below the marketing numbers

Aipas links an SGS certificate of compliance, number SGSNA/25/SZ/00407, effective 29 September 2025, issued to AIPAS BIKE LLC under ANSI/CAN/UL 2849. It covers models including the M2 MAX with a 48V 17.5Ah battery and says certification is valid when the product appears in SGS's directory of certified products.

The certificate's technical data give a maximum speed of 32 km/h, about 20 mph, and a maximum load of 85 kg, about 187 pounds. Aipas's product page advertises a 36 mph top speed and a 500-pound capacity, and the M2 Max manual lists 28-plus mph and 500 pounds. We are reporting the documents, not explaining the gap.

If certification matters to you, ask Aipas in writing whether the certificate covers the bike at the speed and load you plan to ride, and check the SGS directory. The certificate gives charging at 0 to 40 degrees Celsius and operation at 0 to 45 degrees Celsius.

Speed, climbing and range claims

Aipas's page says the bike can reach 36 mph or higher at assist level 5 and lists a 36 mph top speed. The manual says 28-plus mph and the certificate says 32 km/h. No source we read assigns a US e-bike class. Check your state and local rules before riding at the advertised speed.

Aipas claims a maximum gradient of 23 degrees, while the Amazon bullet says slopes up to 30 degrees. Range is up to 85 miles with pedal assist and 36 miles electric-only on Aipas's table. The manual's performance disclaimer calls range and top speed estimates, not guarantees.

The removable 48V 17.5Ah battery, which works out to 840Wh, is rated IP65 and weighs 9 pounds according to Aipas, with an SGS UL 2271 battery report linked. Aipas and the manual list a 2A smart charger; neither states a charging time in what we read.

A tall bike: check the 30-inch stand height

Aipas's geometry table lists a stand height of 30 inches, a minimum seat-to-floor height of 35 inches and a maximum of 39 inches. Its height tool recommends riders from 5 foot 8 to 7 foot 0, while its own FAQ and the Amazon listing say 5 foot 8 to 7 foot 6, and Amazon gives a minimum user height of 172.7 cm.

With a 30-inch stand height and a 35-inch minimum saddle, this frame is for taller riders. If you are near 5 foot 8, compare your inseam to those figures before ordering, or look at the step-through M1 Max variant on the same listing, which this page does not cover.

Weight is 81 pounds net on Aipas's specification table and 90 pounds in the manual and on the listing, with a 114-pound package. Aipas's page says 90 percent pre-assembled with the front wheel fitted, while the listing says 95 percent.

Load rating and what is in the box

Aipas's page, the manual and the listing all give a 500-pound maximum load. The SGS certificate's technical data give 85 kg. That is the single largest gap on this page, so heavier riders and anyone carrying cargo should get Aipas's confirmation of the load the bike is certified for.

Aipas's box list is the charger, headlight, two battery keys, two pedals, a toolkit and the user manual. Fenders and a rear rack appear on Aipas's own store as a promotion and are not listed in Amazon's included components, so do not count on them.

One-year warranty, with weather and shipping conditions

The M2 Max manual's legal warranty covers the original registered purchaser for one year from purchase and is non-transferable. The listing mentions a 365-day warranty, and Aipas's FAQ says returns can be requested within 14 days of delivery by email.

The manual lists the covered parts and a separate list of wear items. The battery is not covered for power surges, third-party chargers, improper maintenance, normal wear or water damage including rust. Read the warranty page for the full lists before relying on any part being covered.

The manual says exposure to very wet, hot or cold conditions may void the warranty, shipping damage must be reported within 14 days of arrival, replacement parts need photographic evidence and ship only within the continental United States, and warranty return shipping, duties and taxes are the claimant's cost.
