A cordless handle with a 300 ml tank and five tips
The E40 is a cordless rechargeable flosser with the water tank built into the body rather than a separate reservoir on a base. The manual's specification table gives the model as E40 with the code WFP14, and COSLUS uses the same WFP14 code in the address of its own product page for this flosser.
The manual's nozzle chart lists five tips: two standard jet tips, one orthodontic tip, one periodontal tip and one tongue scraper. COSLUS's page also counts five specialty tips. The listing describes standard, orthodontic and periodontal tips without giving a total.
Both the listing and the maker page give the tank as 300 ml, and the manual's specification table agrees. The listing gives product dimensions of 9.37 by 3.34 by 2.36 inches and a weight of 15.52 ounces, and says no mains adapter is supplied.
The dial, and a pressure range the manual publishes
The selling point here is the dial. Instead of stepping through preset pressures with a button, you turn a knob on the handle, right to increase and left to reduce, and the manual says you can change the working mode and the water pressure while the flosser is running.
The manual's specification table gives a water pressure range of 30 to 150 PSI. The listing and the maker page both count ten levels without giving any range, so the manual is the only one of the three that says what the dial actually delivers.
The manual also groups the ten levels into three bands, low at levels one to three, medium at four to seven and high at eight to ten, and names the low band as the place a first-time user starts. The rest of that guidance belongs in the manual.
Two modes, a four-hour charge and a thirty-day claim
The manual and the quick guide both name two modes, selected with a mode button: Floss, described as normal cleaning, and Massage, described as cleaning and massaging gums. COSLUS's page names the same two and describes Massage as a pulsing clean and gum massage.
For battery life, the listing claims a single charge gives up to 30 days of use and states the assumption behind it, one to two uses a day. COSLUS's page repeats up to 30 days without the assumption, and neither figure is a session count. No source reconciles them.
The manual says a full charge takes about four hours, that the battery indicator blinks while charging, and that when the charge completes the indicator lights for a minute and then goes out. No adapter is in the box; the quick guide shows charging through the USB cable into any 5V adapter.
IPX7 and the shower, against the manual's own warning
The manual's specification table gives a waterproof rating of IPX7. Both the listing and COSLUS's page take that further, saying the flosser can be used in the shower, and COSLUS frames shower use as a way to make daily flossing easier to keep up.
The same manual says plainly in its safety cautions not to submerge the device in water, and its maintenance section repeats that the main unit should not be submerged when cleaning it. Neither document reconciles the two statements.
Neither source explains how the rating and the warning fit together, so treat the shower claim as unconfirmed. The manual also gives a storage temperature range of 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, a humidity range of 20 to 85 per cent, and says not to fill the tank with water warmer than 40 degrees Celsius.
Care: water only, no vinegar, and tips every six months
The manual's maintenance section is specific about cleaning agents. It says to use only water or a neutral cleaning agent, and never caustic or abrasive agents such as vinegar or limescale removers, because they may damage the appliance. It also says to keep the flosser away from high temperatures and direct sunlight.
After each use the manual asks you to empty the tank, tilt and shake the unit to clear water from around the speed control knob, run the flosser briefly to drain water inside it, and wipe it dry, noting that leftover water inside encourages bacteria. COSLUS's own question list adds leaving the reservoir open to air dry.
The manual says to replace the nozzle every six months, to wash the tank, cap and water suction tube with water and a soft cloth, and not to bend, pull or twist the suction tube. On tank contents, it warns that certain types of mouthwash can crack the housing or reservoir and says not to fill the tank with mouthwash; COSLUS's page recommends clean water below 40 degrees Celsius.
Two years of cover, with two different registration deadlines
The card in the box is the part worth reading first. It advertises a free 24-month warranty that you activate at the COSLUS warranty page, and prints an expiry of seven days after the delivery date for that activation. It also gives a support email and a weekday telephone line.
COSLUS's own Warranty Information page states a different deadline: registration is valid within thirty days of purchase, and the warranty period is extended to 24 months on registration. Neither document mentions the other, so register as soon as the box arrives and keep the order number, which the card says to quote.
That warranty page also sets the limits. Cover goes to the first purchaser only and is non-transferable, accessories are excluded, and so are units bought second-hand or from unauthorised sellers. Damage from abuse, misuse, water damage, unauthorised repair or mismatched batteries and chargers is excluded as well.
