What the Magnifica Evo listing sells
This Silver listing is model ECAM29084SB, the Magnifica Evo with the LatteCrema System. De'Longhi's US product and support pages use the same number, and the instruction book linked from the support page covers the ECAM29X.6Y to 29X.8Y range with a 120-volt, 60-hertz, 1,250-watt rating. It is a fully automatic machine that grinds, doses, brews and froths from one-touch buttons.
De'Longhi lists seven one-touch or customised drinks: espresso, cappuccino, latte macchiato, iced coffee, coffee, hot water and My Latte, plus a 13-setting conical burr grinder. The support page and listing both describe the milk system as an automatic LatteCrema carafe, and the listing names a milk carafe and a removable water spout among the included components.
What is in the box depends on which list you read
De'Longhi's product page lists the machine, a carbon active filter, measuring scoop, total hardness test, cleaning brush, a 100 mL descaler, the instruction manual and a quick start guide. The Amazon listing lists a carbon active filter, measuring scoop, total hardness test, cleaning brush, removable water spout and milk carafe, and does not mention the descaler.
De'Longhi's page and the Amazon listing describe different sets of accessories, and neither explains the difference. Treat both as descriptions to check against the carton, and note the manual's instruction to descale only with descaler supplied by De'Longhi.
Which milks the manual covers
The listing and product page say the LatteCrema System handles milk and milk alternatives. The instruction book is narrower: it says the machine has been tested with cow's milk and with soya, rice and almond drinks, and that no other type of milk or plant product may be used. If you drink oat or another alternative, weigh that sentence before buying.
The carafe has a graduated scale in roughly 20 mL steps with a MIN mark, and the manual warns that too little milk gives a dry puff from the spout. It also says the cleaning methods do not guarantee complete removal of allergens; read that part of the manual in full rather than relying on this summary.
Setup, space and pre-ground coffee
The manual asks for at least 3 cm (1.18 inches) between the machine and side and rear walls and 15 cm (5.9 inches) above it, away from taps and sinks and out of rooms that can freeze. De'Longhi and the listing both give 17.32 by 9.45 by 14.17 inches, so plan the space with those clearances added.
On first use the manual says it will take four or five cappuccinos before drinks taste as they should, and says to replace the supplied water filter after two months, or after three weeks if the machine sits unused. Pre-ground coffee is limited to one level measure and one cup at a time, and must never be added with the machine off.
Cleaning the carafe, infuser and drip tray
The carafe comes apart for thorough cleaning, and the manual recommends the dishwasher for its parts, with a hand-wash soak as the alternative. The removable infuser is different: the manual says to soak it for about five minutes and rinse it with water only, no detergents and no dishwasher, and it can only be removed with the machine off.
Empty the drip tray when its red indicator shows, and empty the grounds container every time the drip tray comes out. The manual suggests checking the inside of the machine and cleaning the coffee spouts about monthly. Descaling takes about 30 minutes, cannot be stopped once started, and needs a 2 litre container; follow the manual's steps.
Listing details that do not match
The Amazon details table gives two pressure figures: 'Pressure: 9 bar' and 'Output Pressure: 15 bar'. De'Longhi's technical data lists a 15 bar pump and does not give a 9 bar figure in the text read here. The maker's bean hopper line reads '8.82' under a grams label and the cup height line '5.46' under a millimetres label, so check those figures before relying on them.
De'Longhi's product page lists a two-year warranty plus one year with product registration; the listing's warranty field says two years from the manufacturer. Both give 60 fluid ounces or 60.87 ounces for the tank and 1,250 watts. Register the machine if you want the extra year the maker page describes, and keep the receipt.
