The size behind the '20 inch' and '23-inch' labels
The listing calls this the Carry-on Plus 20 Inch. DELSEY's own product page for the same SKU, 40167680515, titles it the 23-Inch Carry-On Suitcase and labels the size S. The model number ties both pages to one bag, so the difference is in naming, not in the product.
DELSEY's Technical Specifications give exterior dimensions of 22.75 inches high by 15 wide by 10 deep, and interior dimensions of 20.25 by 13.75 by 9.75 inches. The listing bullet gives the same figures and says they include handles and wheels. DELSEY's page does not list this model as expandable.
DELSEY says the bag is sized to fit the overhead compartment of most domestic airlines, and in the same passage says size and weight restrictions vary by airline and points you to its airline guide or your airline. That fit claim has not been checked here, so compare the exterior figures, especially the 15-inch width and 10-inch depth, with your airline's limit.
Capacity, weight and shell
DELSEY gives interior volume as 44 litres and exterior volume as 56 litres, and weight as 7.7 pounds. The listing bullet and Amazon's tables repeat the 44-litre and 7.7-pound figures, so on capacity and weight the documents agree.
The shell is 100 percent polycarbonate according to DELSEY's specifications. The listing adds that it incorporates recycled materials and vegan leather accents, and DELSEY's feature icons include recycled materials. DELSEY also describes new shock-absorbing corner protectors on the shell.
DELSEY's warranty excludes abrasions, scratches, dents or stains that do not impair the bag's function. On a hard shell, cosmetic marks from travel are therefore not something the warranty will fix, however the corner protectors perform.
TSA lock, zipper and USB port
DELSEY says the case has an integrated TSA-accepted lock that you set with a 3-digit code and that TSA can open with its key without damage. The listing describes a recessed 3-dial TSA-accepted combination lock, and Amazon's table says combination lock, so the documents agree that a lock is built in.
DELSEY's warranty page adds a caution worth knowing: product locks are intended only to prevent accidental opening and cannot necessarily prevent theft of the bag or its contents, or entry by airline, airport or government staff. The zipper is DELSEY's patented SECURITECH zip, which DELSEY says is three times more resistant than a standard zipper.
There is a USB port for charging on the move, and DELSEY states that the power bank is not included. DELSEY's warranty page does not cover batteries and lists separate exclusions for electronic components, so read those terms if the port matters to you.
Wheels, handles and interior
DELSEY describes its exclusive Dual Density double-spinner wheels and a premium ergonomic trolley system, and says the wheels give a quiet ride. Amazon's table records eight wheels. Soft-grip side and top carrying handles are included, and the listing mentions an underside grab handle as well.
Inside, DELSEY describes two full packing compartments with tie-down straps and a zippered divider, and includes laundry and shoe bags. The listing names a removable laundry and shoe bag and zippered pockets. Amazon's table counts one pocket and one section, which does not match DELSEY's two-compartment description.
DELSEY says the lining is coated with SILVADUR antimicrobial technology for odour control. Neither DELSEY nor the listing gives a maximum packed weight, so treat the 44-litre interior volume as the only published capacity figure.
The 10-year warranty and what it leaves out
DELSEY's product page gives a 10-year warranty in the badge, the feature icons and the Warranty & Returns panel, and Amazon's Item details table also says 10 years. DELSEY's warranty page says its 10 Year Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for wheels, zippers, extension handles and carrying handles.
It applies only to the original purchaser or gift recipient, counted from the date of purchase. DELSEY's warranty page also tells you to confirm the period on the product labelling, hangtag and documentation, so check the hangtag when the bag arrives and keep it with your receipt.
Exclusions include normal wear and tear, accident, neglect or misuse, cosmetic damage, exposure to extreme conditions or liquids, and defects caused by handling by third parties such as airlines and hotels. DELSEY advises making a claim against the transit company at the place of arrival if a bag is damaged in transit.
Proof of purchase and the cost of a claim
DELSEY does not require online registration, but if you have not registered, its warranty page says you must provide the original store receipt showing purchase from an authorised DELSEY retailer. The page does not say which sellers are authorised, so keep your order confirmation and consider registering with the hangtag details.
Claims are assessed by an Authorized Repair Center, which makes the final decision on coverage. You pay all costs of getting the bag there, including packaging, shipping and taxes. If the repair is covered, DELSEY pays for the repair or replacement and the return, though some repair centres may charge an additional fee.
If a covered bag cannot be repaired and is no longer available, DELSEY says it will substitute a comparable replacement. The warranty page also states that DELSEY does not warrant it can repair every product or supply a replacement with all the original's features.
