A 48 A hardwired charger with a NACS plug
This listing is the IQ EV Charger 2 with order code IQ-EVSE-NA-1060-0101-1120, the 48 A hardwired model with a NACS (SAE J3400) connector on a 25-foot cable. Enphase's store page says it suits all Tesla models. Cars with a J1772 port would need an adapter; neither Enphase source read includes one.
The enclosure measures 14.5 by 9.8 by 4.64 inches. Weight is 24.2 pounds on Enphase's store page, 25.52 pounds in the data sheet and 25.6 pounds on Amazon. Check Enphase's store page for the box contents before installation day.
Connectivity is 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, Ethernet and CAN per the data sheet. Enphase lists ISO 15118 communication and OCPP 2.0.1, and a spare 48 A J1772 cable is listed as a compatible accessory on the store page.
The 13.3 kW figure needs 277 V, not a standard home 240 V circuit
The headline figure needs reading carefully. Enphase's store page says up to 11.5 kW on a standard home 240 V circuit and 13.3 kW only where 277 V is available. The data sheet gives up to 13.2 kW at 277 V and says 277 V charging is supported only with the NACS connector. The Amazon title leads with 48 A and 11.5 kW at 240 V.
The range-per-hour claims also differ. Enphase's store page says up to 46 miles of range per hour at 13.3 kW on 277 V or 11.5 kW on 240 V, while the Amazon bullet says up to 53 miles per hour. For a typical home on 240 V, use the 11.5 kW and 46-mile figures.
The data sheet gives a rated output current of 6 to 48 A for this code. The installation guide that explains current settings was not read for this guide, so ask the installer to confirm them.
Circuit: Enphase specifies a 60 A breaker
Enphase's store page says a 60 A circuit breaker is required and lists the supply circuit as 208/240/277 V at 60 A. The data sheet says the hardwired terminal block accepts 18 to 4 AWG conductors and that breaker-to-charger wiring must follow NEC requirements and local codes. Enphase says the charger must be installed by a licensed electrician.
A licensed electrician should confirm whether your panel can supply a dedicated 60 A circuit and whether a permit is needed. Enphase and the listing promote dynamic load balancing to avoid main-panel upgrades, but the data sheet says this is typically available when integrated with an Enphase PV system or a third-party PV system through the Enphase IQ Gateway.
Protections listed in the data sheet include short-circuit, surge, overcurrent, relay-weld detection, integral ground-fault protection with a 20 mA CCID and automatic fault reset.
Outdoor use and solar features
The enclosure is NEMA 4, described by Enphase as fully sealed for outdoor or indoor use, with an operating range of minus 40 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit, storage from minus 40 to 185 degrees, 5 to 95 percent humidity and up to 8,202 feet altitude, all from the data sheet.
With Enphase solar, green charging tracks surplus production every 30 seconds and adjusts current in 1 A steps. Scheduling and Storm Guard are listed features. Without Enphase solar or an IQ Gateway, ask Enphase which features apply to your installation.
Certifications and metering
The data sheet's compliance list includes NEC Article 625, SAE J1772, NACS, ENERGY STAR, UL 2594, UL 2251, UL 2231-1 and 2231-2, UL 1998, UL 991, UL 3141 PCS-LC, matching CSA standards, FCC and ICES, with some Mexican and metering items marked as in progress. Enphase's store page summarises this as UL certified.
Metering is ANSI C12.1 revenue grade at plus or minus 1 percent, which the listing says makes the charger eligible for utility rebate programmes. Confirm eligibility with your own utility, and ask Enphase for the listing file for code IQ-EVSE-NA-1060-0101-1120 if an inspector needs it.
Five-year limited warranty
Enphase's store page, the data sheet and the listing all state a five-year limited warranty. The full warranty terms were not read for this guide, so check installation, labour and transfer conditions before buying.
Amazon purchases follow Amazon's return process. Keep the order record and the charger's serial number for any claim with Enphase, and register the unit if Enphase's terms ask for it.
