Which Ultimate 48A this listing is
Grizzl-E has sold more than one Ultimate 48A, and the model number matters when you go looking for documents. This listing's model number is GRS-077-W-HW-25J48-A-GW, which the operation manual lists under the heading New Grizzl-E Ultimate 48A, separately from the older GRU part numbers. Grizzl-E publishes a separate installation manual for the new part numbers.
The installation manual gives the specification as AC Level 2, 48 A and 11.52 kW maximum output for use with a 60 A circuit rating, an SAE J1772 or NACS connector, a 25-foot cable, a hardwire input connection and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. This listing is the J1772 version in the finish Grizzl-E calls Ultra Edition.
The manual's certification line reads UL Certified, E510712, and the overview page repeats UL E510712. United Chargers Inc. of Richmond Hill, Ontario is the manufacturer named on both the manual and the listing, and the manual prints the company's address and its support links on its last page.
Hardwired to a 60 A circuit, with five current settings
This model has no plug. The installation manual says the charging station must be hardwired to the circuit panel and must not be used with an electrical plug, extension cord or adapter. For the full 48 A setting it asks for a dedicated circuit rated 60 A on 208 VAC single phase or 240 VAC split phase at 50 to 60 Hz, with a double pole breaker.
If a 60 A circuit is not on offer, the charger can be turned down rather than returned. The manual's table pairs a 60 A circuit with 48 A output, 50 A with 40 A, 40 A with 32 A, 30 A with 24 A and 20 A with 16 A, and notes that only 80 percent of the circuit-rated load may be used.
Changing the setting means opening the front cover with the supplied hex key and moving a four-position DIP switch on the circuit board, with the power off. That is installer work, and the manual is explicit that the wiring connection must be done by a licensed contractor, licensed electrician or trained installation expert. Let them work from the manual, not from a summary.
What is in the box and what the wall has to be
The installation manual's package contents are a mounting kit holding the mounting bracket, four front plate screws, two back plate screws, a hex key tool and a security pin; a hardwire kit with three terminal lugs, three lengths of shrink wrap and terminal screws; and a charging holster with four Phillips-head screws and four anchors. The listing's included components field names the hardwire kit with terminal lugs and heat shrink wrap.
The wall matters more than usual here. The manual says every charging station product must be anchored into a mounting support such as a two-by-four stud or a solid concrete wall, and in capitals that you must not mount the unit directly to stucco or drywall. The bracket separates into a front and back piece so the charger lifts off the wall.
Height is specified too. The manual says the unit shall be mounted so the storage means for the coupling device sits between 18 and 48 inches from grade, and that the power supply cord must be managed so it cannot touch the floor once installed. A security pin or the separate outdoor security lock holds the charger in the bracket.
Enclosure, temperature and the numbers that do not match
The installation manual's specification table gives a UL Type 4 indoor and outdoor rating, an operating temperature of minus 22 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity at 95 percent RH non-condensing, enclosure dimensions of 10.25 by 6.25 by 3.75 inches and an overall weight of 21 pounds. Storage between minus 22 and 158 degrees Fahrenheit is given separately.
The listing's item weight reads 18.81 pounds against the manual's 21 pounds, and neither document explains the difference. Grizzl-E's overview page adds descriptions the manual does not use, calling the enclosure NEMA 4X in one paragraph, NEMA-4 in another and an aluminium IP67 enclosure in its visual features list, while its own tech specs panel says UL Type 4 Indoor/Outdoor Rating.
One more mismatch is worth knowing about before you shop by specification. The overview page's visual features line reads 22F to 122F operating temperature, while the tech specs panel on the same page and the manual both give minus 22 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. The tech specs panel also lists adjustable current as 40, 32, 24 and 16 amps without the 48 amp setting the manual documents.
Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only, plus a local web page
Two limits in the operation manual are easy to miss. Session history on the local page displays the four most recent charging sessions and says data beyond those four is not saved, and the live charts show only the previous 15 minutes with no access to earlier chart data. Neither document we read says whether the app keeps longer records.
The manual also describes an adaptive mode that lowers current when supply voltage drops below a threshold you set between 180 and 220, and recommends it only where power is unstable, suggesting you contact technical support if you are unsure. Faults are signalled by a flashing red light with a buzzer, and the manual's table names a fault for each flash count.
Beyond the Grizzl-E Connect app there is a local page served by the charger itself at 192.168.4.1 once you join its own network, which the manual says is named after the serial number. That page carries status readouts, a current limit slider adjustable in one-amp steps from 7 A up to whatever the DIP switches allow, timers, schedules, two resettable counters and live charts.

Faults are signalled by a flashing red light and a matching number of beeps, with a table naming each code.
On cover, Grizzl-E's overview page lists a 3 Year default warranty in its tech specs and describes a 3-year or 5-year replacement warranty in its protected block, while the listing's bullets say 3-year warranty. The two Grizzl-E documents we read do not print warranty terms, so ask United Chargers what applies to your unit and keep the receipt.
