A tall two-piece purifier for large open rooms
The Core 600S-P is a tall cylindrical purifier: 12.3 by 12.3 by 23.6 inches and 13.7 pounds, running on 120 volts. It pairs a three-stage filter with a laser dust sensor Levoit calls AirSight Plus, an Auto Mode, and control through the VeSync app, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The box, according to the listing, Levoit's page and the manual alike, holds the purifier, one 3-in-1 Original Filter already installed, a user manual and a quick start guide. The manual's first setup step is to twist the top half off counterclockwise and remove the filter's plastic packaging before you run it.
The manual's cover names the product series as Core 600S and Core 600S-P and gives the model as LAP-C601S-WUS. Levoit's product page lists the same model number, and the listing's replacement filter field names LRF-C601-WUS, so check the model code printed on the unit you receive against those.
The listing's model field does not match the manual
Amazon's details table gives two different codes for this item. The model number and item model number fields both say LAP-C601S-WEU, while the part number field on the same listing says LAP-C601S-WUS. The manual attached to the listing and Levoit's product page both say LAP-C601S-WUS.
Neither maker document we read mentions a WEU code, and we are not going to guess what it refers to. The manual's specification table is written for AC 120 volts at 60 hertz, so confirm with the seller or Levoit that the unit shipping is the WUS model before you order, and check the rating label when it arrives.
The warranty page in the manual prints model LAP-C601S-WUS at the top and is dated effective January 4, 2023. Checking the model code on the unit you receive against that page is worth doing well before the return window closes.
Three different room-size claims, and two power figures
Coverage is quoted several ways. The listing title and bullet say 2,933 square feet once an hour, or 606 square feet every 12.5 minutes. Levoit's page gives 2,909 square feet at one air change an hour and 606 square feet at 4.8 air changes, and its top summary line says it filters a 635 square foot room five times per hour.
The CADR figure is steadier: 391 CFM on both the listing and Levoit's page, with the listing adding dust and pollen figures of 398 and 436 CFM that Levoit's page does not repeat. For planning a room, the maker's 606 square feet at 4.8 air changes an hour is the most conservative number we saw.
Rated power also differs. The manual's specification table and the listing both say 66 watts, while Levoit's product page specification panel says 49 watts. We are not going to pick one; ask Levoit which applies if running cost matters to you, and keep the answer in writing.
Placement: 15 inches all round and dry air only
The manual asks for a flat, stable surface and at least 15 inches, or 38 centimetres, of clearance on all sides, kept clear of anything that blocks airflow such as curtains. Add that to a 12.3-inch footprint and the unit needs a clear square of about 42 inches, so it will not tuck into a corner.
Operating conditions are 14 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and below 85 percent relative humidity. The manual says that in excessively humid areas the filter surface may become mouldy, so a damp basement or bathroom is outside what it is written for.
Do not add essential oils to the purifier or the filter, and do not run a diffuser near it; the manual rules out both. For long storage, it says to wrap the purifier and the filter in plastic and keep them somewhere dry.
Care: pre-filter every few weeks, filter every 6 to 12 months
The outer pre-filter is the only part you clean. The manual says to clear it every two to four weeks with a soft brush or vacuum hose, and never to wash the filter with water or other liquids. The main filter and activated carbon layer are not cleaned at all; the whole cartridge is replaced.
Replacement is recommended every six to twelve months, sooner in higher pollution. The check-filter light is timed to come on after about six to twelve months of round-the-clock use, and the manual says to also replace on rising noise, weaker airflow, unusual odours or a visibly clogged filter, using official Levoit filters.
The laser dust sensor needs attention too. The manual asks you to clean its openings with a vacuum every three months. The housing is wiped with a dry or damp cloth, never abrasive or flammable cleaners, and you unplug the unit before any cleaning.
Warranty: two years, first owner, authorised sellers
The manual's warranty page, effective January 4, 2023, gives a two-year limited consumer warranty from Arovast Corporation, running from the date of original purchase. Levoit's product page also shows a two-year limited warranty, and the manual says registration is not required to make a claim.
Cover depends on using the purifier as the manual instructs, extends only to the original consumer purchaser and does not transfer to a later owner. To claim you need proof of the purchase date and verification of the defect, and Arovast chooses whether to refund, repair or replace.
Two limits matter at checkout. The warranty does not extend to units bought from unauthorised dealers or sellers, and normal wear parts, filters included, are excluded. Buy from Levoit or a seller it authorises, keep the order confirmation, and read the rest of the exclusions in the manual.
