What this 3200 listing sells, and its status

This listing is model EP3241/54 in black, a fully automatic machine with the LatteGo milk container. The listing counts five coffees: espresso, coffee, americano, cappuccino and latte macchiato. Philips's own support page for EP3241/54 marks the model Discontinued, while still offering manuals, parts and troubleshooting for it.

That matters when you buy: a discontinued model can still be supported, but check the seller and warranty before ordering. Philips's support page invites registration within 90 days of purchase for an extended warranty, subject to conditions, and the listing's warranty field says two years.

How LatteGo handles milk

LatteGo is a milk container that the machine froths from automatically. The manual covers its assembly and says to use milk from the fridge. For cappuccino and latte macchiato the machine pours milk first, then coffee; for caffe latte the order is reversed.

After every use the manual says to clean LatteGo, either under the tap or in the dishwasher. The listing describes the system as two parts with no tubes, cleaned in as little as 15 seconds, which is the listing's claim rather than a figure from the manual.

Drinks, strength and pre-ground coffee

Each drink has three aroma strengths and three quantities, and the manual says only the highest quantity can be reprogrammed. Tapping a drink icon twice brews two cups. The manual notes that on types that offer it, an americano is espresso followed by water.

Pre-ground coffee needs the aroma strength icon held for three seconds before every cup, brews one coffee at a time, and cannot be combined with an aroma strength setting. That makes decaf a per-cup decision rather than something you can leave set.

AquaClean and water hardness

The listing says AquaClean filter changes can postpone descaling for up to 5,000 cups. The manual adds the conditions: the machine must be limescale-free before the first filter, and every filter must be activated with the AquaClean icon because the machine cannot detect it.

When the filter is spent the light flashes orange; replace it while it flashes and no descaling is needed. If the light goes out first, descale before fitting a new filter. Use the supplied test strip to set water hardness, holding it under the tap for a second and reading it after a minute.

Brew group and cleaning schedule

The brew group is removed for a weekly rinse under the tap, a monthly clean with a Philips coffee oil remover tablet and lubrication with Philips grease every two months. The manual says to let it air-dry instead of wiping it.

Empty the grounds container when the machine asks and clean it weekly, keeping its front panel out of the dishwasher. Empty the drip tray daily or when the red indicator pops up, rinse the water tank weekly, and clean the pre-ground compartment weekly.

Descaling and listing figures

Descaling takes about 30 minutes and needs a 1.5 litre container under the spouts. The manual says to use Philips descaler only and warns that other descalers, including acid-based household options, can damage the water circuit, and that not using Philips descaler or skipping descaling voids the warranty.

The listing gives 1,500 watts, a 100 percent ceramic grinder and dimensions of 10 inches deep by 17 wide by 15 high at 17.6 pounds, but its voltage row reads 110, so check the rating label on the machine itself. The shared manual notes that some icons and parts apply only to specific types, so compare your machine's data label.
