What the Baristina listing sells
This listing is the Baristina in Natural White with a wooden portafilter handle, part number BAR302. Philips's US page for the Baristina uses the code BAR302/20R0 and describes the same idea: pour in beans, swipe the handle and the machine grinds, tamps and brews with a 16 bar pump. The listing's included components are the machine, portafilter and drip tray.
This is a single-serve espresso machine, not a bean-to-cup with a milk system. The manual lists two drink buttons, Espresso and Lungo, plus an Intensity boost button that grinds more coffee for a stronger shot. There is no on/off button: pressing a drink button starts the machine.
How a shot is made
Beans go into the container and the empty portafilter clicks into place, then you select Espresso or Lungo. The manual says the machine starts directly without a heat-up wait, and Philips's page describes a swipe of the handle taking it through grinding, tamping and brewing.
Intensity boost only works after a drink button is selected, and it grinds more coffee for that shot. After every brew the manual says to empty the portafilter using the puck ejection button. Caramelised or flavoured beans are not to be used in the bean container.
Cup height and the decaf workaround
With the drip tray in place, the manual gives a maximum cup height of 95 mm; remove the drip tray and you can use a cup or glass up to 135 mm. That is worth measuring against your usual cups before buying, since the machine dispenses from the portafilter spout rather than an adjustable spout.
There is no separate pre-ground setting for normal brewing, but the manual has a decaf method: up to 10 grams, one full tablespoon, of ground decaf goes in the portafilter and the Intensity boost button starts and stops the shot. Drink volumes for the two buttons can be programmed and saved.
Cleaning, including the wooden handle
The portafilter must not go in the dishwasher, because the manual says that causes discolouring and damage, and it warns against sharp objects near the sealing surfaces. Among the detachable parts, only the drip tray and its lid are dishwasher safe.
For a deeper clean, the portafilter head soaks in warm water with washing-up liquid for about ten minutes, and the manual specifically says not to soak a wooden handle. Clean the bean container and the exterior with a damp cloth, and keep water out of the bean container.
Rinsing and descaling
Before first use, and after a week or more unused, the manual has a rinse routine with the portafilter inserted, the tank refilled and a cup of at least 150 ml under the spout. The two routines differ in how long the Intensity boost button is held, so follow the page for your situation.
When the Espresso and Lungo buttons blink together after a drink, the machine needs descaling with Philips CA6700 descaler. The manual says the portafilter must be inserted and empty to start, a container of at least 1.2 litres goes under the spout, and the first phase can take up to 30 minutes before a rinse phase. Follow the manual for quantities and button sequences.
