The default is P-4, which feeds for 18 seconds and pauses for 115 seconds, and the range runs from P-0 to P-7.

The manual says the auger must be primed before first use and whenever the hopper runs empty. Before first cooking it calls for a burn-off at over 350°F with the lid down for 30 to 40 minutes; the lid stays open only during the start-up cycle.

Fuel is all-natural hardwood pellets only, and the manual says any other fuel voids the warranty and the safety listing. It says to let the shut-down cycle finish before unplugging, to store pellets airtight, and to inspect the grease duct at least twice a year.
