The 48 A hardwired Pulsar Plus with a NACS connector

The part number PUP2-U-T-6-C-002 decodes through Wallbox's datasheet key as a Pulsar Plus with a NACS connector, 11.5 kW of power and a hardwired connection, on a 25-foot cable. The rated current is 48 A at 208/240 V, and Wallbox's datasheet says the 48 A model is hardwired only; the NEMA 14-50 plug is offered on the 40 A model.

Wallbox's shop page says the NACS version works with all Tesla models and adds up to 44 miles of range per hour depending on the vehicle and the charger's amperage. The body is 7.8 by 7.9 by 3.9 inches and 4.4 pounds without the cable, per the datasheet; Amazon's weight field says 14.85 pounds.

Wallbox's shop page lists the contents as the charger, the 25-foot cable, the installation guide, mounting hardware and a cable holster, with the NEMA 14-50 lead included only on the 40 A model.

Circuit: a 60 A breaker for full 48 A output

Wallbox's installation guide includes a table matching each current setting to a circuit breaker rating, and lists 48 A with a 60 A breaker. It also states that the branch circuit's overcurrent protection must be 125 percent of the selected maximum current.

Hardwiring means an electrician connects the charger directly to the circuit. A licensed electrician should confirm whether your panel can supply a dedicated 60 A circuit, or set a lower current to suit a smaller one, and should handle any permit. The guide notes supply wiring is on the left side of the charger.

Wallbox recommends mounting the charger 50 to 67 inches from the floor, and no lower than 18 inches to the bottom of the unit. Plan the location around your car's charge port and the 25-foot cable.

Adjustable current and add-on load management

Current can be set from 16 A up to 48 A with a hardware selector on the charger, or from 6 A in the Wallbox app, according to the datasheet and guide. That lets an installer match the charger to a smaller circuit without changing hardware.

The datasheet lists static and dynamic load management and solar charging, but footnotes that they may require a power meter accessory, and the shop page says dynamic load management requires a power meter. If you are counting on load management to avoid a panel upgrade, budget for and confirm the meter first.

The app is registered as described in the guide's operation page, and the datasheet lists OCPP 1.6J. The shop page mentions over-the-air updates, and connectivity is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Temperature range is narrower at the hot end

Wallbox's datasheet gives an operating range of minus 22 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, which the listing repeats, and storage from minus 40 to 158 degrees. The enclosure is rated indoor and outdoor, NEMA Type 4 per UL 50E.

The 104-degree ceiling matters for hot climates or a sun-facing wall, so consider shade or an indoor location there. One sample label pictured in the installation guide reads Enclosure Type 3R while the datasheet says Type 4; check your unit's label if that rating matters.

Certifications and fault protection

The datasheet lists UL certification through a nationally recognised testing laboratory to UL 2594 and UL 2231, FCC Part 15 Class B, ICES-003 and ENERGY STAR, with an integrated CCID20 and ground monitoring per UL 2231. The listing and the shop page describe the charger as UL and ENERGY STAR certified and made in the US.

The LED halo's colours are explained on the guide's operation page. No certificate number was looked up for this guide; ask Wallbox for it if your inspector or utility needs one.

Three-year limited warranty with shipping and labour limits

Wallbox's limited warranty statement covers equipment for three years from purchase against defects in material and workmanship, for buyers from Wallbox or an authorised reseller or distributor and for gift recipients. The listing and shop page also say three years. Wallbox may repair, replace or refund the lower of the standard retail price or the price paid.

Claims need a return authorisation form from [email protected] and proof of purchase; you pay shipping to Wallbox and Wallbox pays the return. Exclusions include improper installation, alteration, misuse, accident and natural disaster, and Wallbox is not liable for labour, installation or removal costs.
