What the A1-Slope is and what comes in the box

The A1-Slope is Bushnell Golf's compact slope laser. The Amazon listing calls it the smallest Bushnell Golf laser ever, and Bushnell's product page lists 3.75 by 1.42 by 2.36 inches and 5.1 ounces; the manual gives 60 by 36 by 95 millimetres and 145 grams. This listing is the Blue colour, part number 202510S.

That part number matters because the manual's cover lists three SKUs, 202510S, 202620 and 202630, and the product page's own data and quick start guide carry 202630. The Amazon part number does appear in Bushnell's manual, so this is the same A1-Slope documentation, but check the colour you select matches the one you want.

Bushnell's box list is the rangefinder, a BITE magnetic skin, a USB-C charging cord, a premium carrying case, a washable microfibre cloth and a quick start guide. The Amazon listing's bullet gives the same list; its Included Components field swaps the cloth and guide for a single entry reading manual.

Slope on, slope off, and the default units

Slope is the headline. The manual says the unit uses its laser distance and a built-in inclinometer to compute an angle-compensated play-as distance, combined with internal formulas based on average club use and ball trajectories. The display shows the line-of-sight distance with the grade percentage and the play-as figure beneath it.

Bushnell describes the slope switch as the Mode button rather than a separate external slider. The manual turns slope on or off inside a setup mode reached by holding the Mode button, and the Amazon listing presents that on/off control as the way to play tournament-legal. Check the rules of any event with its organiser before relying on that.

One detail to know on day one: the manual says metres are the default distance unit, and switching between yards and metres is the first item in the same setup mode, before the slope setting. Check which unit is set before your first round.

Range and accuracy: three figures across three documents

Range is consistent: the listing, product page and manual all give 5 to 1,300 yards, with the manual adding 5 to 1,189 metres. Magnification is 6x, the objective lens 18 millimetres, the exit pupil 3 millimetres and eye relief 16 millimetres, all from both Bushnell documents. The eyepiece diopter adjusts plus or minus 3.5.

Accuracy is not consistent. Bushnell's product page specs read plus or minus 1 yard at 500 yards. The manual's technical specifications read accurate to plus or minus 1 yard to 350 yards, and the Amazon bullet says accuracy within 1 to 350 yards to a flag. We cannot tell you which figure is current; ask Bushnell if accuracy beyond 350 yards matters to you.

For flag locks, the Amazon listing says PinSeeker with JOLT gives a short vibration. The manual adds that the laser transmits for up to five seconds per press and the last reading stays on screen for ten seconds.

Sealed rechargeable battery: convenient, but not replaceable

Power is an integrated rechargeable battery charged through USB-C. Bushnell gives 50-plus rounds, or 3,000 target acquisitions, per charge and about four hours from empty to full. Bushnell's specs tab lists no Bluetooth and no Link feature on this model, and the manual describes the USB-C cord for recharging.

The trade-off is spelled out in the manual's battery notes: the internal battery cannot be changed. Bushnell recommends recharging every 60 days and warns that storing the battery at zero percent for over 80 days could cause permanent damage.

The manual also recommends storing the device at room temperature with low humidity when not in use. Its troubleshooting page says a unit that powers down when you try to fire it has a weak battery and should be recharged with the supplied cord.

Water resistance: the page, listing and manual differ

Bushnell's product page lists IPX6, and the Amazon details table calls the unit waterproof. The manual's care section is more cautious: it says the rangefinder is water resistant but should not be exposed to heavy rain or other direct streams of water and will not withstand submersion.

The manual also asks you to store the unit in its case when it is not in use. It tells you to keep direct sunlight out of the eyepiece and, when the magnet is on a cart bar, to tilt the unit so the eyepiece points toward the ground.

For cleaning, the manual describes blowing dust away, then using the supplied microfibre cloth, and applying any lens fluid to the cloth rather than to the lens. It warns that a coarse cloth can scratch the lens.

Warranty terms and who this suits

Bushnell's warranty tab gives a two-year limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with repair or replacement at Bushnell's option if you return the product postage prepaid. It excludes damage from misuse, improper handling, and installation or maintenance by anyone other than a Bushnell authorised service department. The listing's warranty field also says two years.

The manual adds that the unit must never be disassembled, that unauthorised service voids the warranty, and that the product must be returned to the manufacturer for service.

The A1-Slope suits a golfer who wants slope numbers in a pocket-sized unit, rides a cart with metal bars for the BITE magnet, and is happy charging by USB-C. It suits you less if you want a battery you can swap, play in heavy rain, or need Bushnell to confirm accuracy beyond 350 yards.
