Golfers who pair a phone for wind and want Elements in the play-as distance
The Pro X3+ Link is Bushnell's 7x slope laser with Elements compensation, home elevation, a latch-locked slope switch, a dual red or black display and, with the app, wind speed and direction. It runs on a CR2 cell. Bushnell calls it IPX7 waterproof, but its manual's care section advises against heavy rain and submersion.

What the Pro X3+ Link is
The Pro X3+ Link, model 202450, is a Bushnell Golf slope laser. Bushnell's product page lists 7x magnification, a 28 millimetre objective, 5 to 1,300 yards, one-yard ranging accuracy, a rubber-armoured metal housing, 4.75 by 1.7 by 3.25 inches and 12 ounces. The manual's cover carries the same model number as the Amazon listing.
Beyond slope, Bushnell lists wind speed and direction, Elements compensation for temperature and altitude, a home elevation setting, a dual red or black display, and LINK-Enabled use with a launch monitor. Wind and LINK depend on the Bushnell Golf app, as the next sections explain.
For flag distance, Bushnell's page says the unit gives readings within a yard to flags at 600-plus yards. The manual says PinSeeker with Visual JOLT signals with two short pulses and a red ring, gives no JOLT when only one object is seen, and that the device is always in PinSeeker mode.
Wind needs the app, slope mode and a calibrated compass
The wind feature is the headline, and it has conditions. The manual says the Pro X3+ must be in slope mode, connected to the Bushnell Golf mobile app, and have the wind feature switched on in the setup menu before it shows wind speed and direction. The Amazon bullet also says wind shows when connected to the app.
The display shows a headwind or tailwind speed and a crosswind speed. Before it can do that, the built-in digital compass must be calibrated. The manual says an uncalibrated compass makes the arrows flash and the unit vibrate, and describes calibration as rotating the device in your hand.
Because wind requires slope mode, it is also unavailable whenever slope is switched off for a competition. The manual states that the rangefinder does not need the app to operate; wind is the display feature it ties to an app connection, and LINK also works through the app.
Elements and home elevation
With slope on, pressing the Mode button toggles Elements on or off. The manual says Elements adds the air pressure and temperature at your location to the slope-compensated play-as distance, and Bushnell's page describes it as temperature and altitude added to its slope technology.
Bushnell's page and the Amazon listing both list a home elevation setting. The manual suggests setting it in the Bushnell Golf app, and also says there is a way to set it on the device itself.
Firmware updates also come through the app, from the Device Update option. The manual says that when an update is available it is downloaded and installed automatically, and that the app also saves games, stats and course information.
The locking slope switch and tournament play
The slope switch sits on top of the unit and has a side latch that has to be pulled before the switch will slide, and an orange strip shows when slope is enabled, according to the manual. The manual gives the on and off positions of the switch.
Bushnell's page says this locking mechanism significantly reduces the risk of accidentally switching into slope mode during tournament play. The manual states that for the Pro X3+ to conform to USGA Rule 14-3, the slope-compensated feature must be in the off position. Check the rules of any event with its organiser.
The dual display is changed with a button on the left side. When the red display is in use, the first setup item is display brightness and the second is yards or metres, according to the manual.
Battery, water and care
Power is a CR2 3-volt lithium battery, preinstalled with a protective disc you remove before first use. Bushnell's page, box list and manual all say CR2; the Amazon details field reads lithium-ion, which does not match. When the battery indicator blinks, the manual says the unit will not operate until the battery is replaced.
Bushnell's page calls the unit IPX7 fully waterproof and the manual's glossary also says IPX7. The manual's care section, however, says the rangefinder is water-resistant but should not be exposed to heavy rain or direct streams of water and will not withstand submersion. Bushnell's documents give both wordings, so ask Bushnell if you plan to use it in wet weather.
The page's field of view is 340 feet at 1,000 yards, while the manual's specifications say 330 feet. The manual also carries a magnet warning for the BITE mount, which this guide does not reproduce; read it before use. Bushnell's box list and the listing's bullets name the rangefinder, a premium case, a washable microfibre cloth, a CR2 battery and a quick start guide, while the listing's Included Components field reads only rangefinder and case.
LINK, warranty and who this suits
LINK-Enabled means the unit works with a Foresight Sports or Bushnell Golf launch monitor, according to the listing. Bushnell's page says the launch monitor is sold separately and the link works through the MyBag feature in the Bushnell Golf app. Without a launch monitor, LINK has nothing to connect to.
Bushnell's warranty tab gives a two-year limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with repair or replacement at Bushnell's option when the product is returned postage prepaid. It excludes misuse, improper handling, and service by anyone other than a Bushnell authorised service department; the manual says never to disassemble the unit.
This suits a golfer who will pair a phone every round for wind, wants temperature and elevation in the play-as number, and values a switch that is hard to knock into slope mode. It suits you less if you never carry a phone, want a lighter unit than 12 ounces, or will not use a launch monitor.
