What this listing is: the Tour V7 Shift in a Patriot Pack
This listing is the Tour V7 Shift Patriot Pack, part number 202621P, in black and orange. Bushnell's own product page carries 202621P in its product data, and the manual linked from that page is for SKU 202621. The Amazon listing adds a divot tool to the box, which the standard Bushnell box list does not include.
Bushnell's box list for the Tour V7 Shift is the rangefinder, a premium carrying case, a washable microfibre cloth, one CR2 battery and a quick start guide. The Amazon Included Components field repeats that list and adds the divot tool. Check the box on arrival against both lists.
Bushnell's page gives 3.1 by 1.6 by 4.5 inches and 9 ounces. The manual's technical specifications give 8.7 ounces (246 grams), and the Amazon listing says 8 ounces. Those three weights do not match, and none of the three sources explains why.
The red and green display and Slope First
Bushnell's page describes a dual-colour red and green OLED display with what it calls Slope First, and says the play-as distances appear in green. The Amazon bullet describes the same idea: slope-adjusted plays-like yardage in green and actual distance in red.
Slope is controlled by a slope switch. The manual says sliding it left shows an orange slope indicator and turns on compensated distances, and sliding it right removes the feature so the unit conforms to USGA Rule 14-3. Check the rules of any event with its organiser.
The manual describes slope compensation as coming from a built-in inclinometer combined with internal formulas. Bushnell's page describes the unit as USGA-conforming when the slope switch is set to off.
Yardage Range Recall and flag lock
Bushnell's page says one press of the Mode button on top shows your last ranged distance, and the manual adds that the recalled screen includes the slope and any club recommendations. Holding the same button opens the settings menu instead.
The manual also notes that the display holds a reading for five seconds and that the laser transmits for up to five seconds per press. Range Recall, described above, brings the last range back after that.
The manual says PinSeeker with Visual JOLT gives two short bursts of vibration and a red ring on a lock, and that when the laser sees only one object, JOLT does not signal. It also lists a JOLT preview when you set yards or metres.
MyBag and LINK: what you need for club suggestions
The listing and product page both advertise LINK use with launch monitors. The manual is specific about what that takes: a Bushnell Golf mobile app account, a Foresight app account, and access to a Bushnell Launch Pro or Foresight Sports launch monitor to create a MyBag club set. The rangefinder is then registered to the app over Bluetooth.
Once MyBag data is loaded, the manual says the unit can recommend up to two clubs, with a chevron marking the closest. Club recommendations are switched on or off in the settings menu. The app checks for updated MyBag data each time the rangefinder connects.
None of this is required to use the laser. The manual states the Tour V7 Shift does not need the Bushnell Golf app to operate; it adds that the app saves games, stats and course information.
Battery, water and care
Power is a CR2 3-volt lithium battery, preinstalled with a plastic protective disc you remove before first use. Bushnell's page, box list and manual agree. When the battery indicator blinks, the manual says the battery needs replacing and the unit will not operate; its troubleshooting page names a CR2 3-volt cell.
Bushnell's page lists IPX6 and the manual's introduction mentions upgraded weatherproofing to IPX6, while the listing calls it waterproof. The manual's care section says the unit is water resistant but should not be exposed to heavy rain or direct streams of water and will not withstand submersion. Bushnell's documents give both wordings, so ask Bushnell if you plan to use it in wet weather.
The BITE magnet is on the right side, and the manual describes mounting it on a cart bar at the one o'clock position. The manual also carries a magnet warning, which this guide does not reproduce; read it before use.
Range, warranty and who this suits
Range is 5 to 1,300 yards at 6x through a 24 millimetre objective, with a 4 millimetre exit pupil, 16 millimetre eye relief and a 330 foot field of view at 1,000 yards. Bushnell's page lists accuracy as plus or minus one yard, and the manual specifies plus or minus one yard to 500 yards.
Bushnell's warranty tab gives a two-year limited warranty from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with repair or replacement at Bushnell's option if the product is returned postage prepaid. Misuse, improper handling and service by anyone other than a Bushnell authorised service department are excluded, and the manual says never to disassemble the unit.
This suits a golfer who wants slope with a visible switch, colour-coded play-as and actual numbers, and a quick way to recall the last reading, with the option of launch-monitor club suggestions later. It suits you less if you want a rechargeable unit or plan to use it in heavy rain.
