The manual identifies 362420 as the replacement remote, and Bushnell sells that remote separately, so the speaker itself is 362410. The seller is Amazon.com. Bushnell's page describes a Bluetooth speaker with audible GPS, so it speaks distances rather than showing them, and it is not a laser rangefinder. If you want to see distances, hazards and hole layouts, the Wingman HD adds a 3.5-inch touchscreen; Bushnell claims 8 hours of battery for it.

Audible distances from the speaker or the remote

Bushnell says a click of the Bushnell button on the speaker or the remote gives audible front, center and back distances from more than 38,000 courses. The manual says the speaker and remote must be paired with your phone and registered in the Bushnell Golf app before they work as a golf GPS.

The manual adds that the remote works only after registration and connection through the app, and that the app must be running in the foreground or background. In golf mode, one click gives the yardage, two clicks play your first custom sound bite and three clicks play the second.

The app lets you choose center distance only, or front, center and back. It also sets whether the hole number and par are spoken, and whether the voice announces water hazards when the hole advances. There is no screen on this model; Bushnell's Wingman View and Wingman HD add one.

Music mode, calls and pairing two speakers

In music mode the Play button pauses or resumes, two clicks skip forward and three go back, and pressing both volume buttons toggles indoor and outdoor sound. The default is indoor. The built-in microphone lets you answer a call with a short press of Play, reject it with a long press, and end it with Play.

Bushnell's page says the TWS feature pairs the Wingman 2 with another Wingman 2, a Wingman View or a Wingman Mini for surround sound audio, which the manual calls stereo. The manual says to keep the two speakers within 32 feet of each other, and that only the main speaker's remote works while they are linked.

The manual says the speaker remembers up to 8 paired devices and turns off after 15 minutes in pairing mode if nothing pairs. Custom sound bites are up to five seconds each, with two default ones, Clap and Cheer, and room for ten of your own.

Battery, charging and water resistance

Bushnell's page says the battery lasts up to 14 hours, which it equates to three rounds of golf. The manual says a full charge gives fourteen-plus hours at a normal, moderate volume. Indicator lights at the bottom of the speaker show the charge level, and they blink when it is below 10 percent.

Charging is through a USB-C port, and the box includes a cable but no charger. The USB-A port can charge a phone, but the manual says this reduces the speaker's battery level and operating time. The remote uses a CR2032 coin cell, and the manual describes how to replace it. The manual warns that batteries are a danger to life: keep them out of reach of children and pets, and seek medical advice immediately if one is swallowed.

Bushnell's page and the manual rate the speaker IPX6 and the manual rates the remote IP66. The manual also says the speaker should not be exposed to heavy rain or direct streams of water and will not withstand submersion, and to close the port cover tightly after charging. Its BITE magnet has a pacemaker warning.

Box contents, setup and warranty

Bushnell's page lists the Bluetooth speaker with audible GPS, the remote control, a USB-C charging cable and a quick start guide. The manual's included items are the speaker, the remote and a USB charging cable, and it states that the charger is not included.

Setup uses the Bushnell Golf mobile app: add Wingman 2 from the device list and follow the prompts to pair the speaker and the remote. To use it as an audio-only speaker, the manual says to hold the Bushnell button for three seconds and pick Wingman 2 Audio in your phone's Bluetooth settings.

Bushnell's warranty tab gives one year from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, with repair or replacement at Bushnell's option when you return it postage prepaid. Misuse, improper handling and service by anyone other than a Bushnell authorized service department are excluded. The manual says unauthorized service attempts void the warranty.

Where the sources disagree

Weight and size are stated three ways. Bushnell's page gives 24.0 ounces and 2.9 by 2.8 by 7.4 inches. The manual gives 23 ounces for the speaker and 1.05 ounces for the remote, and 185 by 77.5 by 82.5 millimeters with the remote. The listing gives 1.5 pounds and 7.4 by 2.9 by 2.8 inches.

The manual's regulatory pages carry a laser-light caution that Bushnell does not explain for a speaker. The battery claim is also worded two ways, as up to 14 hours on the page and fourteen-plus hours in the manual, the manual adding a normal, moderate volume condition.

Battery life, sound quality and weather resistance are Bushnell's claims here and are not assessed by this guide. The manual warns that the BITE magnet can affect pacemakers and implanted defibrillators, so keep it away from them.
