What the B4310 is
The listing gives item model number and part number B4310, and Chamberlain sells B4310 as a 3/4 HP belt drive opener with battery backup and myQ connectivity. Chamberlain's user's guide for this opener covers several models, with B4310 grouped alongside B5330, B2310 and the C4310 camera model.
Chamberlain's specs list a DC motor with soft start and stop, belt drive, battery backup, smartphone control, video and a 130-degree wide-angle camera. Both Chamberlain and the listing note the 3/4 HP rating is for comparison only, describing lift capacity similar to a 3/4 HP AC motor.
The guide marks the opener for residential use only, and the warranty excludes units installed for non-residential use. It also says the model number is on the end panel of the opener, which is where to confirm B4310.
Lighting: two bulbs, not included
Chamberlain's specs list lighting as 2 x 60 Watt LED bulbs, and both Chamberlain's feature list and the listing say the bulbs, for front and rear lighting, are sold separately. Neither source puts them in the box.
The guide says the opener lights are among the features disabled when it runs on battery power, and its warranty excludes consumables such as bulbs and remote batteries.
The listing's contents field names the opener with video and two 1-button remotes, and its bullets add a smart control panel. The listing's page title also mentions safety sensors. Chamberlain's B4310 page has no What's Included panel, so check the box against the listing on arrival.
Camera, Wi-Fi and the myQ app
The guide says to set up the camera in the myQ app, and its camera LED table includes flashing red for overheating and flashing purple for a firmware update. Chamberlain's page and the listing describe it as a wide-angle camera, and the specs give 130 degrees.
For app control the guide lists a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled phone, tablet or laptop, broadband internet, a 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n signal in the garage, your router's main network password rather than a guest network, and the myQ serial number on the opener. It says the opener must run one full cycle before Wi-Fi programming activates.
The guide's cover says myQ account registration and Wi-Fi connection are required before starting installation. It also says connected openers receive software updates. We did not read myQ subscription terms, so check the app for any paid features.
Remotes and compatibility
The guide states that this opener is compatible only with myQ and Security+ 3.0 accessories, and that older Chamberlain remote controls are not compatible. Chamberlain's product page repeats that most older accessories are not compatible, so remotes you already own may not work with it.
HomeLink versions 4, 5 and 6 are supported according to the guide, and Chamberlain's product page says HomeLink 4 and up. The guide says a pre-programmed remote is included, while the listing names two 1-button remotes.
Timer-to-Close, the myQ app and other unattended close features are to be used only with sectional doors, according to the guide.
Battery backup: what still works
The guide says a fully charged 12 V battery supplies power for up to 24 hours of normal operation during an outage, takes 24 hours to charge, recharges within 24 hours once power returns, and lasts approximately 1 to 2 years. It names Chamberlain part 4428 as the replacement battery.
On battery power the opener may run slower and beeps every 2 seconds, and the guide lists the lights, myQ app control and monitoring, the camera and unattended close including Timer-to-Close as disabled. The guide pages read do not list which controls remain in use on battery.
A battery status LED shows the backup's state in green, orange and red, and the guide's table explains each. The guide recommends an annual battery test and disconnecting the battery if the opener stays unplugged for a long period.
Warranty terms and a listing mismatch
Chamberlain's product page lists 5 years on the motor and belt, 1 year on parts and 1 year on accessories. The guide's warranty table for B4310 matches and adds 1 year for the battery backup.
The listing's warranty description instead says a limited lifetime warranty on the motor and 1 year on parts, while its own bullet says 5 years on the motor and belt. Chamberlain's product page and the guide both say 5 years on the motor; neither source explains the listing's lifetime wording.
The warranty covers the first retail purchaser for the residence where the opener is installed, requires a prepaid, insured return and leaves removal and reinstallation costs to you. Its exclusions include non-residential use, door hardware problems, interference and consumables such as bulbs and remote batteries.
