A 2.1-quart, single-basket mini fryer

COSORI's page and manual list model CAF-LI211 with a 2.1-quart (2.0-litre) basket, 900 watts on AC 120V 60Hz, a 170 to 400°F range and a 1 to 60 minute timer. The box holds the fryer, a crisper plate, a quick reference guide and the user manual. COSORI's FAQ calls the capacity "generally suitable for one or two people" and designed for small portions, snacks or light meals.

The listing gives the model as CAF-LI211-GUS, a suffix COSORI does not print. Its UPC 810043379342 is one of the four UPCs on COSORI's page, and COSORI's product data assigns that UPC to the Green option, which is the colour the listing shows. Nothing on this page depends on the colour.

Counter space, clearance and the outlet

COSORI gives 10.1 by 8.3 by 10.5 inches including the handle, 8.0 by 8.3 by 10.5 inches without it, and 4.87 pounds. The manual asks for 5 inches (13 cm) of space behind and above the fryer, room to pull the basket out, and a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from walls or cupboards that steam could damage.

The manual says to use it only on 120V, 60Hz outlets and never to plug it into an outlet below the counter; it shows error E4 if it has been plugged into a 220 to 240V outlet. It also says not to place anything on top of the fryer while it is on.

Four presets and what happens when you pull the basket

The manual lists Air Fry at 400°F for 15 minutes, Bake at 310°F for 15, Roast at 355°F for 20 and Reheat at 345°F for 5. Time and temperature can be changed during cooking, a changed preset is saved with a 3-second button hold, and all presets are reset with a 10-second hold.

COSORI's page says the fryer shuts off automatically when the basket is removed during cooking. The manual instead says it pauses and resumes when the basket goes back, and clears its settings and turns off after 30 minutes with the basket out. It also turns off after 5 minutes idle, and overheat protection shuts it down.

Oil, overfilling, foil and paper

The manual says the fryer works with hot air only: never fill the basket with oil or fat, and use no more than 2 US tablespoons (30 mL) of oil on the food. It warns that heaping food may touch the heating coils and says not to pack food in, because an overfilled basket cooks unevenly.

It says not to cover any part of the fryer with foil except the basket as directed, notes that lining the basket but not the crisper plate may make cleanup easier, and says never to put baking or parchment paper in without food on top. Read the manual's safeguards before first use.

Coating, cleaning and the crisper plate

The listing describes a ceramic-coated basket and crisper plate. COSORI's manual says both are aluminum with a nonstick coating and without BPA, and neither the manual nor COSORI's product page read for this guide mentions ceramic, so confirm the coating with COSORI if that detail matters to you.

The manual says to clean the basket and crisper plate after every use, in a dishwasher or with hot soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge, and to avoid metal utensils, abrasive cleaners and metal scouring pads. It also warns that the hot crisper plate may fall out when the basket is turned over, so seat it firmly.

Noise claim, app and warranty terms

COSORI's page says the fryer runs at noise levels lower than 48dB without saying how that was measured. The manual points to the free VeSync app for recipes and video tutorials; neither the manual nor the product page read here describes controlling this fryer from the app.
