A 9-gallon drum with a 1-7/8 inch hose
Craftsman's product page lists the kit as the vac, a 1-7/8 inch by 7 foot POS-I-LOCK hose, two locking extension wands, a utility nozzle, a car nozzle, a wet nozzle, a Qwik Lock pleated paper filter and a dust collection bag. The Amazon listing gives the same list.
The manual's 9-gallon parts column gives this model hose, extension wand, utility nozzle, car nozzle and wet nozzle part numbers that differ from the ones it lists for the 12 to 20 gallon models. If you plan to reuse accessories you already own, check them against those numbers first.
The manual's carton contents table for the 9-gallon model also lists four caster feet, four casters and a carry handle. It marks hose clips, a crevice tool and a muffler/diffuser as not included for this size, and names a Phillips screwdriver as the tool needed for assembly.
How long is the cord?
Craftsman's structured product data gives a cord length of 123 inches, which is just over 10 feet. The Amazon details table contradicts itself: one field says the cord length is 20 feet and another says the power cord length is 10 feet. None of the documents explains the difference.
Confirm the cord length with Craftsman if outlet distance matters to you. The manual says any extension cord must be outdoor-rated and no smaller than 16 AWG, and its electrical safety section has the full requirements.
The same details table includes a battery charge time field for this corded vac, and fields for 82 dB noise and 68 inch maximum suction. None of those three figures appears on Craftsman's product page or in the manual pages read.
Model number and part numbers
Craftsman's page and the listing both call this vac CMXEVBE17590. The listing-supplied manual, form SP7075-1, lists the 9-gallon version as CMXEVBE175900, with a trailing zero that the product page does not use. The manual gives no explanation, and this page does not guess at one.
The manual's 9-gallon parts column lists replacement filter CMXZVBE38754, disposable filter bag CMXZVBE39970, drain cap 73185, hose assembly CMXZVBE38761 and wet nozzle CMXZVBE38683. The listing's compatible-bag bullet names the same CMXZVBE39970 bag, so the two sources agree on reorders.
The listing also names nine compatible Craftsman filters. The manual's parts table names only CMXZVBE38754 as the replacement filter for this model.
Filter, bag and float in use
The manual says the Qwik Lock paper filter can be used for wet or dry pickup. It may stay in place for small amounts of liquid; for large amounts the manual recommends removing it because a saturated filter lets mist appear in the exhaust. The filter must be dried after liquid pickup, and a wet filter clogs on dust.
A float rises and cuts off airflow when liquid reaches its limit, and the motor note rises. The manual says to switch off, unplug and empty the drum, and not to run with the float raised. The 9-gallon drum has a drain cap in its parts list, and Craftsman describes an extra-large drain.
The disposable bag is for dry debris only. For fine dust such as drywall dust or cold fireplace ash, the manual says to use a fine dust filter rather than relying on the standard setup.
Size, power and where to keep it
Craftsman's product data and the listing agree on a weight of 15.5 pounds and a height of 24.28 inches. Craftsman gives a width of 16.61 inches; the listing puts that figure as length and adds 18.42 inches for width, a dimension Craftsman does not show.
The manual rates the 9-gallon model at 120 volts, 8.3 amps and 60 hertz, matching the listing's amperage field; the listing gives 996 watts. The 4.25 peak horsepower figure appears in the listing's variant name and in the address of Craftsman's product page.
The manual describes the vac as intended for household use and says to store it indoors and keep it out of rain. Craftsman's page describes blowing debris from the rear exhaust port; the manual has a separate blower safety list, including eye protection, to read before using that port.
Warranty terms and exclusions
The manual gives a three-year limited warranty from the date of purchase to the original consumer owner, ending if the vac is transferred to another person. It names Emerson Tool Company as warrantor and manufacturer, with the Craftsman mark used under license from Stanley Black & Decker.
Excluded are normal wear, power cords, hoses, filters and other accessories, motor damage or burnout caused by failure to clear a blockage, and overuse beyond intended capacity. Use outside the manual's written instructions is excluded as well, so read the operating section before the first job.
The remedy is repair, replacement or refund at the company's sole discretion after a physical inspection, and the manual gives 1-888-331-4569 for service. The warranty text includes a binding arbitration clause, set out in full in the manual.
