What this bundle is and what is in the box
This is iRobot item Y354020: the Roomba 105 Combo robot with the AutoEmpty dock, in the Smoke colour on this listing. iRobot's page lists the box as one Roomba 105 Combo robot, one AutoEmpty dock, one extra mop pad and one hair cutting tool. The listing's own bullet names the robot, dock and extra mop pad, and its included-components field just says docking station and mop pad.
Combo means it vacuums and mops, with three modes on iRobot's page: vacuum only, mop only, or vacuum and mop together. The mop pad fits on a plate on the bin and is fed from a tank in the robot; iRobot's FAQ says the pads can be used up to 30 times. The dock's care table in the guide covers bags, a filter, contacts and sensors, and describes no water tank.
Navigation is ClearView LiDAR, and iRobot's FAQ says mapping takes about 10 minutes and up to 3 maps can be stored. The owner's guide's setup page says to remove protective film from the camera and foam inserts; this guide is shared between the 105 Vac and 105 Combo, and iRobot's page we read does not describe a camera, so ask iRobot if that matters to you.
Mopping is filled and emptied by hand
The owner's guide's mopping section has you dampen the pad, fill the robot's tank and refit the bin before a mopping run, and describes pausing a job to refill the tank. After each mopping run the guide says to empty the water tank and replace the mop pad. The full sequence, with pictures, is in the guide.
Liquids are restricted. The guide says not to add hot water, detergent or disinfectant, and to use only cold water or an iRobot-approved cleaning solution. It also says iRobot does not recommend its mopping functions on unsealed hardwood or certain laminate or vinyl planks, so check your floors against that list before buying.
For vacuuming only, the guide says to empty the bin and water tank and take off the mop pad plate first. With the tank and pad fitted, the robot avoids carpet in vacuum-and-mop and mop-only modes; iRobot's page calls this Carpet Detect. The page lists 4 suction levels and 3 liquid levels, plus SmartScrub.
Dock placement, stairs and a clearance inconsistency
The guide's setup diagram puts the dock on hard flooring with good Wi-Fi, 1.5 ft (0.5 m) clear on both sides and 4 ft (1.2 m) clear in front, out of direct sunlight, and says to wrap the cord back. The robot measures 13.23 by 13.19 by 4.09 inches and weighs 6.45 lb on iRobot's page.
Stairs need attention. The same diagram labels 4 ft (1.2 m) from stairs, but the warning on that page says to place the dock at least 5 feet (1.5 meters) away from stairs. The two figures appear on the same page of the guide, and the guide does not explain the difference; ask iRobot if your dock position falls between them.
Amazon's item weight of 14.97 pounds does not match the 6.45 lb robot weight on iRobot's page, and neither source explains the difference; iRobot's page gives the retail box as 14.76 by 14.13 by 15.31 inches. The guide says to charge for 4 hours before the first clean, and the robot returns to recharge mid-job and resumes.
What the 70X, 2X and 75-day claims compare against
The 70X more power-lifting suction on the listing and iRobot's page is footnoted on iRobot's page as compared to Roomba 600 series robots; it is not an absolute suction figure. The 2X deeper scrubbing with SmartScrub is footnoted on iRobot's page as compared to the standard vacuum and mop mode for coffee.
The 75 days refers to how long the AutoEmpty dock's bag can hold debris, per iRobot's page, and iRobot says the bag traps 99 percent of allergens as small as 0.7 microns. The owner's guide simply says to replace the bag when full, as prompted by the dock light or the app.
Amazon's table gives Battery Life as 100 minutes and 7 power levels. iRobot's page lists 4 suction levels and gives the battery only as a 3000 mAh LFP pack, with no runtime in what we read, so the 100 minutes appears only in the listing.
Robot and dock care intervals
The owner's guide's robot table: empty the dust bin as needed, and the guide recommends cleaning it at least weekly; empty the water tank after each job. Filter: clean weekly, or twice a week with pets, and replace every 3 to 6 months. Edge-sweeping brush: clean every 2 weeks, replace every 3 to 6 months. Multi-surface brush: clean weekly, replace every 6 to 12 months.
Also in the robot table: front caster wheel and charging contacts every 2 weeks or as needed, sensors monthly, mop pad cleaned after mopping and replaced every 3 to 6 months, and the brush cover inspected every 6 months. The dock's table: charging contacts, sensors and IR window monthly, dock filter debris removed monthly, and bags replaced when full.
The guide's troubleshooting page covers the dock's thermal protector and what to check before restarting the dock. The dock care page also warns not to spray cleaning solution or water onto sensors or sensor openings.
App, Wi-Fi, power use and warranty
Both iRobot's page and the guide say 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi must be used; iRobot's FAQ adds that your phone can go back to 5 GHz after setup. The guide highly recommends using the app, and iRobot's FAQ describes the three cleaning modes and map storage there.
The guide notes that the robot uses a small amount of power whenever it sits on the dock, and describes a lower-power standby option. If a cleaning job is left inactive off the dock for 90 minutes, the robot ends it automatically.
Amazon's warranty field says 1 year manufacturer. We did not open iRobot's warranty terms, so the length, conditions and claim route are unconfirmed here; check them with iRobot or the seller before you buy.
