A stainless 16-gallon vac on a cart
The 1610RV is RIDGID's 16-gallon stainless steel wet/dry vac, catalog number 50353, built on a cart with a push handle and large rear wheels that RIDGID says let it travel up and down stairs and over rough ground and thresholds. RIDGID rates the motor at 6.5 peak horsepower, 12 amps, 120 volts and 1,440 watts.
RIDGID lists a built-in drain, built-in accessory storage, casters, a 20 foot cord stored on a large carry handle, a blowing port, an accessory storage bag, Scroll Noise Reduction and a Qwik Lock filter system that fits without tools or fasteners.
The manual identifies the model as 1610RV0, stock number 1610RV, and says model and serial numbers are on the handle. The listing's catalog number 50353 matches RIDGID's ordering table for this model.
What is in the box
RIDGID's includes list is the vac, two extension wands, a premium locking hose, a utility nozzle, a wet nozzle, a crevice tool, a car nozzle, locking accessories and a fine dust filter. The manual's carton list gives the same main items plus the manual, and calls the hose the Pro-Hose.
The manual's parts list names the filter as the VF5000 Qwik Lock fine dust filter, installed at the factory, with utility nozzle VT2509, car nozzle VT2503, wet nozzle VT2510, crevice tool VT2502, extension wand VT2508 and Pro-Hose 831337-9. It lists a long Phillips screwdriver and a mallet as the tools required for assembly.
RIDGID's product page also lists an accessory storage bag among the features. The manual's carton contents list does not include one, so check the carton against both lists when it arrives.
Hose size and airflow disagree on RIDGID's own page
RIDGID's feature text describes a premium locking 1-7/8 inch hose, and its includes list repeats premium locking 1-7/8 inch hose. The specification table on the same page gives an accessory size of 2-1/2 inches, and the compatible accessories table lists 2-1/2 inch locking wands and nozzles.
Airflow is stated twice as well. The specification table gives 135 CFM, while the ordering information table on the same page gives 187 CFM for catalog 50353. RIDGID does not explain either difference on the page.
The listing adds an 8 foot hose length, a 70 dB noise level, three wheels and an item weight of 1 pound, none of which appear in RIDGID's documents. RIDGID gives a shipping weight of 40 pounds.
Household or pro use?
RIDGID's product page describes the 1610RV as a professional vac designed for pro, contractor and industrial use. The manual's introduction says the vac is intended for household use and may be used for wet or dry pickup and as a blower.
The full lifetime warranty text in the manual does not mention a household-only restriction; it excludes failures due to misuse, abuse or normal wear and tear. Neither document reconciles the two descriptions of intended use.
The manual's safety summary includes a caution about fine dust, and its operating section says to empty and clean more often when picking up fine dust. The manual's parts list describes the factory-fitted VF5000 as a fine dust filter.
Filter, float, drain and cords
The manual says the paper filter can be used for dry pickup or small amounts of liquid, and recommends removing it for large amounts of liquid. It says to use a dry filter for dry pickup and to dry the filter after wet use.
The manual describes a float for wet pickup. The drum can be emptied through the drain cap or by removing the powerhead. To lift the vac, the manual says to use the side handles on the drum, and to steer with the rear metal handle.
The vac is double insulated with a polarized plug. The manual calls for outdoor-rated extension cords no smaller than 16 AWG, recommending 14 AWG for 25 to 50 feet and 12 AWG for 50 feet or longer. It says to wrap the cord around the motor cover after use.
Full lifetime warranty
RIDGID's product page lists a full lifetime warranty, and the manual's warranty says RIDGID wet/dry vacs are covered against defects in workmanship and material for the lifetime of the vac. Service is arranged by calling 1-800-4-RIDGID.
Under the manual's terms, a warranted vac is repaired or replaced at Ridge Tool Company's option and returned at no charge. If it is still defective after three repair or replacement attempts during the warranty period, you can elect a full refund.
Failures due to misuse, abuse or normal wear and tear are excluded, and incidental or consequential damages are disclaimed where the law allows. The manual asks you to have the model and serial numbers on hand when you call.
